Well technically it is his money since the person used his ID to get the job. Sometimes things have a natural way of working themselves out. If the illegal complains, then all your friend has to do is turn him in, problem solved.

On the contrary, try reporting it and you'll find out that no one in government has the authority to do anything because of privacy laws.
If someone uses your SS number, the SS Administration can't tell you because it's a violation of the THIEF's privacy! Getting the police to go after identity thieves is extremely tough. Heck. Just look at the recent Supreme Court ruling that says if an illegal alien uses your SS number, but doesn't know it belongs to a real person, it's not a felony EVEN THOUGH IT HARMS YOU (emphasis mine).

As for "stealing", well, if the illegal alien is using this guy's SS number, then the IRS will be coming after this guy to pay the extra taxes on this "income" anyway. Who's "stealing" from whom? There's a quote from Shakespeare, to the effect that he who steals my purse steals trash but he who steals my good name steals everything. The illegal alien is committing the greater theft here.

So just because there is someone using his ID it automatically makes him an illegal? Well let me tell you that there are americans who do it all the time and I wish I were making this up but I'm not.

I do believe it's wrong to steal identities but it's the same by stealing someone elses check for what he didn't even work for.

Oh btw I know that americans also do ID theft because two towns near where I live there are two white guys (brothers) and are working on 4 different ID's. I would say something about that but its' not my business

No because he is not being anymore honest then the person who stole his SSN! It may have been his SSN, but technically he didn't make the money.He can get into a lot of trouble for what he did. I would think that if somebody stole his identity that he would want to report it, and not go collect money somebody is making under his SSN.

I agree it is wrong to use others ID's, but your friend can be charged with theft and fraud.

BTW, You have no way of knowning, that an "illegal" is using your friends ID.

I know "Americans" use others ID's also, for many reasons!
