Arizona also has a law (passed a few years ago) to punish employers of illegals. It was challenged almost immediately and is still pending in court. Maybe if the groups who support illegal aliens had let us proceed with that idea, we would not have had to try 1070.

I do agree with you that those not here legally should not have access to housing. I am starting to think that we should also put limits on access to financial services.

The Federal Government is hooked on illegals and enjoys the benefit of the illegals paying into social security and not receiving any in return. They say illegals don't receive state benefits(Medicaid,etc); untrue because anchor kids are legal, so states must support them. The Federal Government knows who the illegals are and sends employers correspondences when a social security number doesn't match the recipient; our government is a willing accomplice. They could fix it with heavy fines to employers, but they will not enforce the law.

Yes, we are certainly not doing all in right direction. As employers we are tempted for cheaper labor and employ illegals, so we are equally responsible.

We should unite to vote against politicians who favor pro-illegal immigrants laws. One such rejection in election is enough to deliver the message.

There is already a law against hiring illegals now. Businesses get fined for it. I think it's still in effect. I also agree on the housing thing you brought up.

To answer your question....I think both is the answer. A mix of deporting and fining ppl for hiring/housing illegals.

ICE is very limited to enforce sanctions against employers because of the 1986 immigration reform act. Initially the act contained severe sanctions against employers that hired illegals but the Chamber of Commerce, the farm lobby, other businesses, and therefore the republican party oppose those sanctions. It wasn't until the sanctions were very watered down that they supported the act.

That is why "American Apparel" wasn't even fined when it was found that they employed 1,500 illegals.

Before filing a report with Homeland Security, make sure you have the following...

1. You must have direct evidence before reporting illegal immigration or employers. Have you seen direct evidence? Has someone that works with the company told you directly about illegal activities?

2. Please gather all of the detailed information you can to include in your report such as the name, address, and phone numbers of the employers, illegal alien drop house, drug and illegal immigrant smugglers, etc... Car descriptions, license plate numbers, appearance descriptions, names, methods, photos, anything you can compile will help.
