First of all you or your government has no rights to do that,
Second you people can't learn other languages because if learning a language need lot of knowledge power which you haven't.
We can learn not only English any language because we have mature and wide knowledge about the world. For an example i can speak TAMIL , Sinhala, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, french , German, Spanish , Urdu , and English. I came from a small country which has only 2 language. How many language can you speak? |

Of course not what the hell are you thinking |

No, I think we would miss the romance languages. And it keeps us on our toes. Its nice to be able to go on holiday and speak a different language. Get up off your backside get some culture and learn one
And besides, America cant even force Iraq to be a democracy. How in gods name do you expect to force the french to speak american |

Once again my friend, why not. It seems that's the thought process of many Americans anyway. They want English in America, and English where ever they go. We can call it the language crusade, convert or die. |

OK, with the impression of the Americans that the world has, I got to see this one even requested to the inhabitants of the planet... |

It is a good idea ('tho almost an impossibility) but the use of the word "force" is not so American. |

All languages are a variation of English that I've heard or seen so far |

And you sir, who are you to presume that "we should force everyone in the world to speak English?" And since I have 'dared' to ask the question, who do you presume "we" are to force English down everyone's throat?
It would make it easier for English speakers you say? By the way, please learn to spell correctly, 'english' is always spelled with a capital "E" especially before you presume to teach anyone how to 'speak English.' Don't you know that worldwide more dialects of 'Chinese' are spoke than English?
What I think is that you are too presumptuous.

No, I respect other peoples languages. There is no way to force other counties to speak English, and I think that is wonderful. I enjoy the languages, customs and traditions of other countries. I support diversity in every way. |

They teach English in most other countries. I actually think that they speak more english in other countries than in the US of A. They should require that you know how to speak english living here and not have interpreters to always help out. |

In different periods of time in man's history some languages became more popular but everyone's speaking the same language is a story in the bible. |

I believe no one could force anyone to speak English language.I'm an Asian.Yet,I know how to speak English fluently because I went to college and finished my degree. Not all people in the Universe are schooled like me,and not everybody on earth could speak English, though it's very important to study and learn this for it's the UNIVERSAL language that needs to be spoken well to understand each other better...but forcing someone to speak the language would be another thing. It's like imposing something to someone that you already know that he/she could not follow. |
|

Faeldaz M
 |
No, why would someone want to do that?
Since English is my home language, I admit that when I'm in a (non-English speaking) foreign country that a business with staff that speak English might be more likely to get my tourism money: it's nicer for me to be able to ask questions, etc., instead of pointing at the sandwich that looks good and using a few of the words I learned from the phrasebook. But that's voluntary encouragement, not force. |

Ich denke mehr Leute sprechen andere Sprachen als Englisch und haben damit einen groesseren IQ. By the way what English are you referring to: American English, Queens English, Australian English, New Woop Woop English, Canadian English...oh give us a break with stupid questions like that. So now it seems OK to you to use force on something that would be a mere convenience for one group of people? You know better than that! |

The answer is absolutely no. English may be the most popular but certainly is not the best, more accurate or beautiful language in the world. Why would a redneck like you want to impose their own selfish wishes on other cultures? It is not about easy it is about culture, history, beauty and freedom! How would you feel about Chinese being imposed on you and english outlawed. China is the most populus country in the world by a very large margin. |

They pretty much already do, since most of the world has a better education model than we do here in the U.S. |

No I dont think so why because you cannot make people do something if they dont want to do it and yeah it would be good if evrybody would know english but that is up to each person and eah belief. |

OOOH there are more Mandarin and cantonese speakers than there are english speakers. Think if we all were forced to speak mandarin or cantonese. However why dont you learn some of the most popular languages like German or Spanish. Languages are exciting. |
