They are not getting any welfare, you moron. Not from the government, at least.
The basic concept of being in a country "illegally" means that they aren't documented on government records. And to receive assistance you need *documents* and to be registered "in the system".
No legal visa = no documents = no assistance.
So why don't you learn a bit before spreading all that hate? |

Some posters are "lion" maybe not intendedly or very misinformed.
They can get Benefits--I know they can.
State's are making laws to prevent this---why would they do if they were not?
Income not citizenship is requirement for many of the benefits..
I don't care if the poor get the help they need--but too many are using it not as a helper but as a lifestyle-legal and illegal.
And we can't help the world that is impossible-so I feel citizens first and when they are all taken care of--than reach out. Not before.
I don't know what the answers are--we don't want to see those who need it-go without. But we don't want to see citizens go without because the well is running dry, and it is. We owe them protection of these Benefits--OUR sick our elderly our injured soldiers. |

I think welfare benefits should be ended for Wal-Mart, which although it is the largest company in the history of the world expects the American taxpayer to pick up the tab for the health insurance costs, food stamps, and other assorted below-poverty-line expenses of its hundreds of thousands of employees! |

I agree with hadenough on here! She is sure right about all those responses here who are "lion!" People, don't think for a minute that illegal immigrants are NOT getting welfare benefits (including food stamps) - they most CERTAINLY ARE! They don't have papers, you say? How about the ones who have fake/fraudulent papers! Many do! How about the ones who have "anchor" babies - many do! Don't tell me they only get benefits for their "anchor" babies, because that is not true - they get benefits for themselves and the rest of their families, too, in many States.
Yes, this needs to stop IMMEDIATELY! All illegal immigrants and their anchor babies need to be deported back to their home countries as soon as they are found in the USA - no exceptions! |

Lou Dobbs said it best on the last Real time with Bill Maher. The illegals are providing 7 billion in tax revenue for 57 billion dollars in services. Are you getting 8 times the benefit from your tax dollars? You'd kinda think Bush would like a "round-up"--goes with the cowboy attitude!! Please not that welfare is any free government service from schooling to health care. |

Yes because the funds for welfare are paid by the taxpayer and illegal aliens get paid under the table because it is ILLEGAL for an ILLEGAL ALIEN to work an alien has to obtain a green card to legally work in the states. So If they are being hired they get paid under the table. Which means they are not paying taxes. |

Personally, no I don't feel they should. People are answering this question and coming down pretty hard on you. In all due respect to them, they are wrong. If an illegal alien woman gets pregnant, did all of you know that she can get health benefits? You can email me and I'll give you numbers to call if you need proof. Once a child is born here, it's easier for them to stay here. I see the games they play. They come here, have babies and stay here and just sit at home, collect welfare and make babies. They can't get jobs because they are illegal but they can get health care and make babies and since their kids were born here, it makes them citizens and the children are eligible for benefits. Sad but true. |
