We had the money but we had a situation with the babysitter and had to pay her a whole month now we are 500 short we could have the money in 1 week. Do you think it is ok to send the papers now

If I were you I wouldn't risk of having them deposit the check when your checking account is not funded. According to the USCIS instructions, they will try to deposit a check payment twice but if it will not come through they will return the entire application.So I think instead of having it returned it will probably be a good idea to send it when you know that the check payment you included in the application is already funded. |

If you was to send out your money to them say in tomorrows mail Feb 11, 2009 I am sure it wont be cashed for at least five business days. so it you count the weekend you would have time. But Don't count your chickens before they hatch. Make sure you know for sure you will have the money to cover it. Good luck I know how it is when you have to cut money so tight! God Bless You |

just pray they don't cash earlier than expected. Can you borrow from someone until next week. I would not risk being short coz your application will be denied, n you may have to go through the whole waiting period.
This is why I always send them a money order, so I don't have to worry about keeping the required amount in the bank, not to mention I keep a copy of the money order, if you send in a check you don't get the cashed ccheck back, USCIS destroys it. |

If the INS is not able to cash your check when they want to, you will have to submit your application over again. I would not risk that. |

First of all, it is changed to USCIS. There is no more INS.
Second, nobody can predict the processing time of USCIS.
It is better you keep the total of filing fee money until they cash. If there is not enough money in the account when USCIS cashes, then they will reject your application and all the application will come back. That means you have to start the process all over again. |

everything with INS takes longer than a week. I'm not so sure but I belive they only take cashier checks or money orders. best idvice borrow the money |
