Dianne Finestein,senator of california wants all illegals in this country to become US citizens,which means that any illegal by just stepping one foot in US soil would automatically become a US citizen,those are the people that are representing our best interests,how they became our leaders I'll never know,luckily she was turned down with her stupid amendment,Bush himself has shown he is just a tower of jello when it comes to dealing with Vicente Fox from mexico

I have not heard an intelligent person disparage an individual person for immigration. The difficulty is with the entire 12-30 million of them. When social services, prison space, public housing, subsidized health care, and welfare benefits are spent on the "undocumented" the immigrant population, it is wrong. We need not to give "undocumented" immigrants any services or driver's licenses in any way. We need to make it unattractive to live off the hard work of others, not matter what race you are!

I do think there has to be an avenue to assimilate them into our greater society. They FIRST need to learn our common language. I know Americans are so "stupid" for not learning other languages, but the language of the USA is English, and the language of opportunity is English. So when you have 35-40% of Southern California that does not speak it at all, we have a PROBLEM!

I want SANE LEGAL immigration. I want border enforcement, so the legal immigrants can come here safely and without fear. The cost of a smuggler is MORE than the cost for a Visa application!

I want employers punished severely for employing ANYONE without the right to work. This leads to exploitation of the worker, and not benefits if they get hurt. We need social security cards that are counterfeit resistant, and EVERYONE should have to produce one in order to work.
The fact of the matter is, this country cannot support 10% of Mexico living in it for free, period. This is ALREADY the case.

We cannot pay for every poor and downtrodden person alive to come here. We CAN engage in the word economy and spread our values and freedom through diplomatic and economic progress. If we want people to stop coming here in droves, then build factories south of the border, and pay them more than the going rate. Maybe we should make Barbies in Mexico instead of Indonesia!

Why didn't you pro-illegals campaign years ago to let all these people in legally? I'll tell you why. Because the US citizens would have said NO, and you all are going on the philosophy that it's easier to get forgiveness than permission. In fact, we already did say NO by having the laws that we do on the books.

i am sorry to say this but i think there is to many illegal immigrants in the US today, and i believe they take away jobs from us.. my way of thinking is there is so many needy americans why try to help those when you can not seem to help your own people...i know god made all people and i believe in helping one another.. but like these churches going to other countries to build homes and send food and all when so many americans need this kind of help too...i do not think they need to come to america.. how does the terriost get in here... we do not know if there wa a war in their old country what they would do...i feel two ways about this but you see so many homeless in america.. i thank god for my apartment and what i have which i do not live fancy at all but i am very clean and appreciate what i have.. if i was rich i would help more people.. i try to help now any way i can.. but i have been used a lot and people owe me so much money.. it seems you have to be careful on even who you try to help in america at this point... seems like to me we are going downhill anyway..so that is more reason not to let illegal immagrants into the united states to become citizens or even on a work viza//

NO! Why do they deserve that? Listen I know it's gonna be freakin impossible to ship them all back, or back up legislation to imprison them all or actually fine the employers, but why the hell do they HAVE to become citizens? I say they should get resident alien status AT MOST! I do NOT want these people voting. We have a hard enough time with the ignorant masses of American citizens voting retards into office.

It would be a logistical nightmare to deport anybody here illegally (FACT 12-20 million people... that's a lot of busses!)
Backing up legislation to fine employers won't happen (FACT! Just look at what happened after the 1986 amnesty bill. There was a provision to fine employers that was hardly enforced, and lead to the situation we have today)
The American people are ignorant when it comes to electing compitent officials (FACT. Have you seen some of the comments, proposals, legislation that our elected officials present? They are abominations! Illiterate and non-English speaking masses will only elect those that they are TOLD to vote for. Hasn't anybody even noticed that they are protesting AGAINST Pres Bush, when Bush wants nothing more but to offer them all amnesty?)

I guess those illegal immigrants that are atleast doing something to legalize their status here in US, such as people with any sort of petitions. Some illegal immigrants are actually just out-of-status because they are waiting for their documents to be processed by the INS, which by the way has a major backlog. Not those illegal people that arent doing anything and just want to go on wellfare.
