I don't think you're a racist for feeling that way. I agree that we need to strengthen our borders. I don't mind immigrants, as long as they're legal. I do feel for them and understand why they would come here, but at the same time it puts a burden on the legal citizens here. We need to draw the line somewhere. |

I think all immigration should be halted and all illegal immigrants deported until all Americans that want a job, have a job.
The immigrants of today are nothing like the immigrants of years ago that came here to be an American. Because of the whining liberal left these people now come here and demand we bow to their culture instead of them assimilating to ours. Liberalsim is fast destroying America, as seen in other countries. |

You aren't racist. Immigrants should come legally or expect to be disliked. U.S. citizens are expected to obey the laws and so should people from other countries.

I agree with you. Its not racist, but since most of the illegal immigrants are from one region, it appears to be racist.
I also don't think you can defend current illegal immigration by comparing it to the European conquest of the America's. First off, successive waves of Asians settled North America coming over the Bering Sea land bridge, pushing the first Asians farther south.
Then when Europeans first came here, Native American Indians fought back. Current American citizens need to fight back against the current invasion. Instead, the US offers tax free jobs, free medical care, free school lunches, welfare, etc.
If the US is too stupid to realize the current illegal immigration is on the scale of an invasion, we deserve to become 'Latinated'.
Companies that employ illegal immigrants, shop at stores that hire illegals, dine at restaurants with illegals in the kitchen, or don't speak out against illegal immigration are the problem. |

Personally i don't mind immigrants coming here to settle and share a good life with us....were an Island...its good for the old gene pool. And lets face it, we do need a certain amount.....I just hate Islam. The hate fuelled b@stards are wrecking the country. They are aggressively taking over, aided by the bloody labour party.....we cannot have that evil oppressive religion here, it goes against civilisation completely. It violently opposes our entire social system. If we threw Islam out of Britain, i would have no problems with immigration at all. |

Yeah don't worry mate you're not racist most people in England feel that way. Its not about the people as individuals or their race but the fact that the system has and is being abused, the fact that our own government has done their damnedest to suppress our national identity, pride, culture and traditions so that we won't upset people that have come to 'our' country, though it's perhaps more to do with the EU regulations and ultra socialist ideas.
It doesn't matter if they are muslim or if they're dutch, russian, polish, french etc even american, if they come to Britain they must live under the laws and adopt the principles relevant to fit in and live harmoniously in this country, which does not mean shaft your own culture etc by any means. I think people that come to this country with their own culture and keep it is good, so long as they realise that they must integrate and understand that this is England. If that's unacceptable, leave. |

I am in full agreement - and to back that up... My next door nighbor is a Mexican American. His parents (when he was young) got on the list, waited years, took tests, to be ALLOWED into this country. HE- of all people is AGAINST illegals. He strongly believes that if he and his family did it the 'right way' than so should EVERYONE. NO excuses. I know there is war and poverty, probably beyond what we have ever seen,but it is not an excuse to break the law. Period. |

Yes, the data is from 2001 still current data is comparable. but this is first get the facts before we discuss futher.
Yes, integration by certain section of the minority communties is a issue and these people must work towards integration. However there is a Paranoia among some britishers regarding UK being 'swamped' with non-whites and non-christians. but still more than 90% r whites and less than 4% are of not european religion (moslems, hindu, sikhs, buddhist).
Bottom line is, illegal immigration must be stopped or controlled to a level where it does not bother us. Secondly, immigration criteria should be made harder (for that matter, immigration criteria is made harder lately, but being slack on this issue for years has had a huge impact ).
So no need to be paranoid. We need to put pressure of govt to act on illegal immigrants and check the flow of immigrants and being in (if needed) only skilled immigrants that can contribute ot the econoy and social life of UK. |

I believe that the USA had a period of heavy immigration immediately after word war 1. They handled it the sensible way, all immigrants were supported either by members of their own families already resident there, or by voluntary organisations.
In the UK we do it the stupid way, free handouts in money and housing for incomers who haven't contributed to our country's finances and in some cases they never will do. It's called selling the country down the river to gain socialist votes, and some of these activities are still illegal. However politically correct social workers know how to get around the system and asylum lawyers make a fortune out of it, again with state funding. |

I don't think you are alone nor are you racist. Unfortunately, if you don't welcome an invasion into your country then you are considered racist but I think its far more complicated than that. People throw that word around without understanding what it really means. Few people are truly racist but I think most of us are territorial. They are two different things completely.
I am orginally from the Uk but have lived in the US for 6 years and I see some of the most moderate of British people becoming very intolerent of the invasion of immigrants, not just about those who are not white but from all nationalities. They feel overwhelmed and in some areas they feel they are minority in their own country but what seems to be the worst thing, is the trivialisation and in some cases eradication of their own culture, laws , religion and language. It is this I think that evokes such a reaction, not the colour of their skin and this provokes understandably in my opinion a strong sense of territorialism.
If immigrants assimmilated more effectively, then perhaps people like you who seem perfectly reasonable and not hate filled or extreme would feel better about sharing your homeland. |

Most citizens in western countries feel that same way. So the answer is yes. Immigration should benefit the UK and not the immigrant. Plus the UK population is over populated with 60 million people. Immigration will only exacerbate the current criminal and poverty related problems in addition to increasing the population.
The UK simply does not need immigration because it does not need more people. The UK population must be cut to 30 million people if the country wants to feed itself sustainably. There are too many environmental problems that the UK can only solve by reducing its population.
Plus, you have cultural and religious interference with basic human rights in the UK that is caused by immigration. Then you have the British demographics that will change the face of the UK if immigration continues. Did you Europeans learn anything from the mistakes of the United States? It is okay to be xenophobic because that is your country’s right. |

This may be a little off topic but to all those that continue to bring up American Indians on both sides of this issue, the facts are that American Indians have been native to this land as long or longer then the Caucasians have been Native to Europe. American Indians have been in the America's for over 50,000 years. Now those of you that do not believe that American Indians are Native to this Country go check and see how long Europeans have been Native to their Countries!!! I guess what I am getting at is stop using the American Indian to validate your stance on this issue! We have nothing to do with it!!!
Now as far as this issue goes, I am all for those that come to this Country legally and most of them add to our Society. I can not say the same for those that come here illegally. They cost our Society far to much and We the People have paid far to high of a price at the hands of this issue. It is our responsibility to oust those politicians that are for the illegal imigration invasion and for Amnesty. We must band together regardless of party affiliation and get rid of these politicians that would sell out its own Citizens to line their pockets with cash!!! |

In answer to your rant - our govt is part of the EU; the EU allows freedom of movement for all - that means you could go and live and work in another country if you chose to- if you choose not to then stay and live in peace with the rest of us (regardless of nationality). Many people come here because they want to improve their lives for their children - this is pretty much the same as me, I have moved from the West Midlands to Wales to Staffordshire etc all in a bid to get better and better jobs and improve our lives - if I was fortunate enough to speak another language I would definitely move to another country too |
