well, how did you become an American?
If you're not a full-blooded Native, then it is highly likely that at some point in the past your ancestors came here and took somebody's land by force, typically by killing them.
If that was well documented, and hating immigrants today does make you a "better American", the question is: do you want to BE one? |

No. Question answered. But this seems like bait. I do not hate them. But I do not think they should be allowed to ignore our laws either. Or receive benefits. |

I don't know many people that object to undocumented immigration.....I know lots of people that object to ILLEGAL immigration. We pay the price for illegal immigration, and they don't care. I don't hate illegal immigrants....I don't hate much of anybody. I do find offense with how selfish and callous they are. |

It's not about hating anyone, it's about rule of law. If you are here illegally you are breaking the law and need to be deported |

Yes. Just like hating immoral things makes you a better person. |

Hate has nothing to do with immigration or being an American.
Upholding the law and abiding by it makes you a good American. People that can't do that don't deserve the privilege of becoming an American. |

No. REPORTING UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANTS DOES. |

I'm against immigration restrains, but I must say your question is dumb, it has no sense at all and it focus in the non-essentials. |

I think people say they hate illegal aliens but they don't hate them. You keep trying to fan racial flames that don't exist.. or ethnic hatred.
There are preferences out there and that is great, but what you continue to propose is wrong. |

Maybe. Having someone to look down on helps make some people feel superior. |

They are a convenient target and distraction from the real issues. Like the fact that the US seems singularly incapable of actually enforcing its border laws and the citizenry isn't willing to pay for it to be done.
But hey, trying to maintain a contradiction and the inability to have a rational discussion about certain subjects (eg. immigration, abortion, gun laws) is a long-standing American tradition. ;) |

No. It just means you are a taxpayer fed up with being leeched upon by criminals.
Insisting that our laws be upheld makes you a better American. |

It depends what you mean by a 'better American'.
Do you mean 'better American' as in you're possibly a wee bit racist if you actually 'hate' illegal immigrants or 'better American' as in better person. If better person then it's best to try not hating anyone. Just a thought. |

Some people seem to think so
Just look at some of the answers posted here. Just for the fact of being illegal immigrants, they put them at the same level of timothy McVeigh, Charles Manson, or ted bundy
Don't scream so much about the meaning of illegal. That should be in the ethics or legal section, not here
The fact of being here without documents does not make you automatically a criminal |

It probably does. Irrational hatred is as American as Mom's apple pie. |
