Im JUST the person to answer this question. If their country was so horrible that they left...they should have left the flag there. They come here for new opportunities...that means positive progression. Hanging and displaying of your own countries flag while you are here...not only is it rude but you should go back to the place you came from. We probably don't want you here anyways. |

Yes it does, if you want to live here in the U.S., then show it. |

Absolutely. It makes it very clear that they intend to overthrow our gov. and take over. In fact, they have already declared this intention in what is called; The Reconquista. When America plants a flag on foreign soil, we claim it for our own. It is no different with them.... |

Yes it does and i am an immigrant. We should have pride for US since it's allowing us to stay here, instead alot of immigrants talk s*** about US but love to make $$$ |

why? Does it make you assume they're illegals since they won't wave the US flag?
It doesn't bother me at all. |

Not as much as it bothers me when people fight against the same free speech that so many have died for. It's disrespectful to the real patriots, and it's nothing more than racism disguised as patriotism. It's sickening. |

No - I am proud that I am British and I am proud that I live in the USA. So why can't I wave both flags??
I think this issue has to do with what your ideas and views are of the flag that is being waved. |

not at all, you are not a racist, and it does not bother me a bit
it is good for you to be proud of your history. |

This is the way I see it. You see I have no problem if people wave their flag or anything, BUT when it's taken overboard it kind of becomes annoying...like say when they put a huge 10x20 flag of some country on a flag pole yes...even the American flag that big is annoying( I mean like at someones house..national events and stuff I understand but your house?), or when their Car has a big flag in the back of the rear window, it's just going overboard...I mean who the hell cares if your Mexican, Chinese or whatever country you came from? I don't. All I ask for a little humility, can you have that? |

Just because we are the melting pot of the world does not make it right for them to have the flags of the country they left flying. I see it alot on base it realy bothers me.
A lot of folks don't see what it means. so let me spell it out for you. Would you care if I flew a Russian flag or how a about a Nazi flag. One country one flag. simple. |

why would it ?
really why ? can you explain please ? |

Absolutely. There was even a High school in Texas that had the flag of Mexico raised above the flag of the United States. |

Be proud of where you come from and hold on to your ancestral roots but, becoming a citizen here means you are now an American, now are flag is your flag. If you were that proud of being from that country then why didn't you stay there? |

Yeah, I hate seeing those Irish flags in Boston, or those Italian flags in New York, or the Canadian flags at hockey games.... Damn immigrants.
Or were you talking about the immigrants with brown skin?
What would you call someone who focuses on the group of immigrants with easily distinguishable characteristics (like skin color), but ignores immigrants he can't pick out of a crowd??
So Yeah, you're a racist, you just don't know it. |

as long as they are doing it for the right reasons i see nothing wrong with it. what they did when they had their marches, that was not right. |

Obviously you have never left your homeland and started living in another country with different rules and customs. I have things that were my grandparents - baptismal certificates, wedding certificates things like this that were issued from their church. All of these things were written in German - even though this Church was here in the United States. My grandparents were born here in the United States. My great-grandparents came to this country for the promise of a better life -- like most of the people that are now living in the United States. When I look at these things, and see how they tried to keep a bit of home with them, it makes me admire them for leaving all that they knew to come here and try to make a better life for their family and what love I feel for my ancestors for what they have given me - a wonderful country with freedoms not felt any where else in the world. Oh, and life was not a bed of roses here -- they had to scrape to get by. My grandmother hated fish until the day she died because that is all she lived on when she was a child. Because her father fished to provide meat for his family.
I reccomend that you consider tracing your roots, find out where your family came from and maybe you will be as grateful that you were given the chance to be in this beautiful, wonderful, free country instead of some oppressive or depressed economical country of this planet. And have a little bit of empathy for those that have come here and have to live in a place that have neighbors like you that downgrade them, make fun of them and treat them like second class citizens. |

No. My great grandparents (legally) came from Portugal and Italy respectively and I cherish the things they brought over with them that represent their culture. |

1) Flying the flag is a symbol of national pride. When you fly a larger flag of another country above the American flag you're disrespecting America and Americans.
2) Free speech is a right of American citizens. 'nuff said.
3) It has nothing to do with race. We welcome immigrants of all colors. This is all about the ILLEGAL part. |

absolutly, i dont go over to the U.K. and wave an american flag over there, but i guess since were under the liberals control, its all fine and dandy!
they want to have their cake and eat it too, and we let them! :( |

NO. it's not a big deal. since when are you complaining that if they are going to stay here they shouldn't wave any flag? make up your minds people.
I;ve seen many American flags in many marches/rallies, and less of the other flags, but that's me. I have seen on TV more of the other flags being waved but they chose to put that up on TV, just like you choose what you want to see and then you say they all do it. that's false.
"l3ubbathedog"-- I agree with you.
"Lex" -- A lot of the things you say are offensive and ignorant, because you seem to bring up Mexico or Mexicans in almost all questions, think before you type. |

Well, waving the flag of another country on U.S. soil to show who you support is pretty stupid. It shows the person is loyal to which ever country's flag he is waving. If it were an American, I would assume it would be considered treason because the person has defected.
You can't have loyalty for two countries. It is impossible. One day, an issue might pop up where that person will have to decide which country he/she will support. One of the countries is going to get the shaft, which that person will commit treason to one of them.
Illegals should not wave flags of their old countries they have fled from. It does nothing but compound the problem and make themselves appear as enemies to Americans. If they were truly loyal to their old country, then they never would have abandoned it.
The smart thing would be if illegals were waving the American flag, which would mean they are seeking equality. Waving their old country's flag is very stupid.
Now that I've said this, not all illegals are waving their old country's flag. So don't group them all together and ridicule them all for the actions of a select few ungrateful morons. |

Yes. they have not understood that we fly only one flag, and are loyal to only one government and one country. |

Yes, if they want to be American then don't wave the flag of the country that you left, which is not as good as America |
