And yes by the heading I dont speak spanish. My wife just made a point. Why do they have state sponsored ESL (English As A Second Language) classes for free to non-english speaking hispanics that want to learn the American way? But there are no State sponsored Spanish classes for Caucasian Americans? Is it because they feel that Caucasians can afford the class and hispanics cant? Caucasians are now the minority and we have to learn spanish so we wont lose jobs. If we all want to be on equal playing fields here, shouldn't they offer free classes to Caucasian American? Oh, go ahead and bring on the comments cause I know they are coming.
Additional Details
This was not a rant of how unfair it is to have to learn Spanish. I am wrong about being the monority, although to get a job now I have to learn spanish and that's a fact. Does anyone know of a local government sponsored spanish class so I can keep up with the job market?

i don't think we should HAVE to learn spanish, they come to this country so let them learn english. u sure got the "minority" right! 40% of them live on gov. asst. and live better than i do on s.s.

When I was in high school we had Spanish classes. You don't have to read traffic signs or fill out government forms in Spanish (yet).

i know of several churches which offer free classes to english speakers in my area . i am at the metroplex area , perhaps u may want to check with ur local churches or even suggest what u want if it isn't available in ur area , there is nothing wrong with learning so i hope than it helps u a lot when u learn the beautiful spanish language .
