Emigrate to USA after graduating...?

I was hoping if anyone could give me a simple answer to whether it would be in any way possible for me to emigrate to the USA after graduating from university.
I haven't started my degree but am hoping to do Medicine (in which case emigration is not a likely option) or either Chemistry or Biochemistry.
Does anyone know whether just graduating with a degree is enough reason to apply or do you have to have done a certain number of years worth of experience in the workplace or have a minimum salary etc.
There is nothing else that connects me to the USA, ie family, but I have always wanted to live there.
Could someone please tell me if its worth my while looking into it, or if there is no hope at all.

Yes, I'm from the UK. I'll be around 21 when graduating.

I would complete HALF my University education in UK, then see if you could transfer and go to a University in USA. Quite often, foreign students stand a better chance of being welcome due to American familiarity with their own educational institutions which could enable you to step into a job, should your grades be high enough. |

You need a sponsor, so I guess if you got somebody who was willing to employ you it could be an option. Or you could get a masters degree and go on a student visa, which would make it easier to stay there on a more permanent basis. I don't think having a degree qualifies you for a visa |

it may be worth it. are you from the UK? I had a friend from the UK who lived here for about 4 years. Then he returned to the UK. It was no big deal. |

We need people to work in the Health Care industry, as our baby boomers are getting old and need medical care. Nurses, doctors, and some other health specialists should not have a difficult time getting a green card, especially if they speak English well. Good luck, we need more English-speaking immigrants, most of them speak only Spanish. |

Maybe. But you will need to get a job offer and a sponsor. At the moment, this is impossible. In a few years, perhaps. However, you will probably need some work experience. |
