Well, if you are going to live here in an English speaking country-
it might be smart for you to learn English for the reasons listed below:
1. 911 operators speak English
2. Police officer, fire men and doctors all speak English
3. Folks at the bank speak English
Unless you plan on carrying around your own personal translator- you better learn English or no one will be able to help you when you need it. |

If anyone one of us here were to go to live in whatever country you are from, we would have to learn at least enough of the local language to survive. You coming to live in the USA is NO different. |

You should learn English so you can post a question on Yahoo Answers that people can actually understand...If you want to live and work in the USA, then the least you can do is learn the language! Other countries expect immigrants to learn their language if they are living there. It's called common sense, try it sometime. |

It's actually very fair, I think. Regardless of what country you are going to, you should be willing to learn their language if they are willing to take you in. It's a matter of respect for the people and the culture. Besides, English is a very useful language in today's world. It'll pay off to learn it. |
