Definitely not, accepting that we have been invaded in centuries past, and crossed genes with many others, I do not consider myself a mongrel. For centuries my ancestors were native to this island and that makes me British. I hate it when people are asked to define "Britishness", you either are or you are not. My view is that the watering down of our culture and heritage was done deliberately in the pursuit of multiculturism, a system that is clearly failing. Denigrating one culture does not make the acceptance of another easier, it merely creates division and resentment. We need to get our pride in our country back, re-instate that which has been taken from us. The breaking up of the Union was a big mistake in my opinion, it has weakened us as a whole, divide and conquer is not just a cliche but a tactic which will further the cause of the european federalists. Stand up and be proud to be British, despite what the politicians are doing to brainwash you into thinking otherwise. Rule Brittannia! Loving ones country does not make you a racist or xenophobe, just a loyal citizen. .

No i am a true English person, no matter where my ancestors originated (Saxons i believe)..i am not a mongrel, i have no Asian or any other race in my veins so i class myself as a true Brit

I consider myself to be English as I was born here and so where my parents and grand parents - not that it matters who your forebears are. I have an ancestor who was the High Sheriff of Lancaster in the 1600's - Captain Lees - a very distant relative - I don't think that makes me any more English than anyone else - I think that you are who you want to be.

If we go back far enough we would find that pretty much everyone is of mixed race - Viking, Norman, Roman, Saxon, etc - but I just consider my parents and theirs - they were English and so am I.

I consider myself an Englishman to the bone, with family heritage traceable over 500 years in this country, i would say i have a right to do so. I find it highly offencive when the government try and water down my sense of nationality, but being a working age, white man. Means the government feel it is fine to step on us, as to not offend ethnic "minorities", women or the elderly.

Would not know. I live in england and the only mongrel's I see are dog's. I am Irish true & true and can trace my ancestry back 1500 year's. No mongrel's in my family!

British and proud of it , you are right the word "mongrel" is used by people who very sad and the PC brigade , by the way word "mongrel " comes from Mongelia and has no real connection with Europe at all , just an other case of the hijacking of language.

I am British and I am proud to be so. Although I was born to English parents and have always lived in England, I am NOT English, I am British. Mind you, I had a Scots wife and my great grandmother was Welsh, both thought of themselves at British and so do I. I am not a mongrel but I'm pretty sure that when I can go back a bit further in my ancestry I will find, possibly, Danes, Saxons, Germans, or what-have-you. But I'm still pure (in my mind) BRITISH.

I'm a mutt. I thought I was polish on my fathers side, until he recently let me know that his father was Irish, went to school in Poland, (guess that explains why I like to drink) then moved to the US. At this point I believe my ancestry is Austrian on my Mothers side, and Irish and Polish on my fathers side. I'm a blonde haired blue eyed mutt, and proud of it.

And what is wrong with being a mongrel? Look at dogs.....mongrels have a far better, healthier life. Whereas breeds always seem to get health problems, deforminities, illnesses and die at a younger age.

Whether I'm a breed or a mongrel I'm proud of who I am! I don't need to answer to anyone.

Well, there was a similar question not so long ago and I'' give you the same answer I gave them:

Although I was born & bred in London both my parents are foreign: My father is Greek and my mother was born & bred in South Africa, although her parents are Spanish and Chinese. My 1st husband's maternal side were German and my second husband is half Norwegian!
So in answer to your question, do I consider myself to be a mongrel, I suppose in the true sense of the word I am, but I am who I am and because of that I am all the more richer.
