F-1 college student Visa - got expelled - is there any chances left for me ?

I am a non-immigrant student in the USA. I came to the US to study in a community college :
Enrolled in first quarter : Sep. 2007 - Dec.2007;
Took off one quarter legally to get back to home country : Dec.2007 - Mar.2008.
Enrolled in second quarter : Mar.2008 - June 2008
Took off summer quarter legally but still took one course : June 2008 - August 2008
Enrolled in third quarter : Sep.2008 - Dec.2008
I was being lack of motivation and I have sickness (but have no proof in the US though I have proof in my home country, could say that I couldn't afford the fee for hospitality in the US and my aboard insurance company was AIG which didnt help ) - I didn't study my best to maintain my status. I got low grades for both 3 quarters as a full-time students. After all, in a day of Feb.2009, a letter come stating that I should write a re-instatement letter to apply for a reinstatement of status, but I thought that it was my fault myself so I didn't try it :( I didn't write anything and got expelled.
I left the USA as required on 26th Feb, 2009.
I know that I violated the requirements that govern my immigration status and now I deeply regret and understand my responsibility though I also know it's too late. But still I wonder if there is any chances left for me - any ?
If I apply for another school / college and get accepted, they'd send me a new I-20, would the USA embassy release me a new visa ? ( my old visa expires in 2011 ) ?
what do I have to do now?
If there is no way for me to apply for a new visa now, then how many years after this I can re-apply to get to the US for studying aboard again?
Besides, would you please tell me if I can't come to the US anytime soon, may I apply for a visa to study in Canada this time?
In case the Canadian embassy would deny me, does having a lawyer on helping me getting Canadian student visa bring any help?
I'm deeply looking forward for any of your response.

@ Hi Hater : I know I might get admitted by another institution, and can get a new I-20, but the problem here is, does the US embassy let me pass the visa interview and release me a new visa ?

If you are not in school full time, you old visa is void. The visa is only valid if you are enrolled in full time studies.
If a different US school accepts you they have to apply for a new F-1 visa for you.
Since you left the USA when you were supposed to, getting a visa will likely not be a problem. However, after being expelled, I would only expect a private US college will accept you. Do note they are a lot more expensive.

You'd have to apply for a new visa at a new school. however, it may be more difficult to get a new F1 student visa than it was the first time. it's hard to say. however, your track record at your original school might cause problems at the new interview. It wouldn't be unreasonable for the interviewing officer to question why things would be different for you this time around. |
