Hi,
I am an F-1 visa holder with one year left to complete in my program. My fiance is a US citizen and we plan to get married as soon as possible- we'd just like to sort out all the legal stuff before we make it official.
I am only vaguely familiar with the process; I was wondering if any of you guys would shed some light on the process, i.e. what needs to be done, any possible complications with my current status etc.

There shouldn't be any complications. After you marry, you file an Adjustment of Status, an I-130... and if you want, a work authorization. Your F1 should still be valid this entire processing period. |

Ir shouldn't be that much of a problem. check out uscis.gov and take a look at the forms section, especially the I-485. Be sure to read the instruction sheet for the I-485. pretty much everything you need to know is right there, just be sure to file all the forms at the same time. |

not sure, so i cant say no or yes, but maybe they wont give it to you right away because they think you marrying him just for the citizenship, so they will come to your house one day (they wont tell you when) and see if you two live together, if they see you together then they will, it will take time, cuz that is the system in UK, France, in most of German states |

You need to take it in the butt for 3 years before you are eligible to become a U.S. citizen. |
