Giving up USA Residency?

Are there any greencard holders (permanent resident but non-citizens) reading this who are thinking about leaving the USA for good? If so, what are your main reasons for considering doing so? And, where do you think you'll move to?

lol, well I don't think it's quite to the level of Communism in the States. Any citizens wishing they could leave?

I am going to answer your question, even though I don't exactly fit into the category you listed.
I am an American citizen by birth. I married an English man. (from England) I also spent 6 months in England before we got married.
In a year to a year an a half, we will be moving back to the UK, for various reasons.
Wages are almost double what they are here. (currently here in the US I make 25,000 a yr working full time. In the UK to do the same job I will earn almost double, and only work 3 hrs 5 days a week)

Even after taxes (yes the UK pay allot in taxes, but they also get a lot for what they pay) the average British citizen brings home almost twice what we do.

Job security. After working for one yr in the UK your employer has to offer you a job contract. An employer can't fire you without DA*N good cause, or the government will be breathing down their necks. Unlike here in the US where your employer can fire you for any reason or for no reason without notice (at least here in NC that is how it is)

Average starting holiday/vacation is 5 weeks paid a yr.

Due to the taxes you pay in the UK, health care is free and prescriptions are only 6 pounds each. (and no, the wait time in the UK to get in to see a doctor is not months, like most Americans think. When my husband needed ankle reconstructive surgery, he actually had to postpone it because they scheduled it too quickly and we were going on holiday.)

Housing is cheaper.

Food is cheaper.

Cars get almost double in gas mileage as American cars. If you don't believe me the compare ford.com and ford.co.uk. Yes their gas is more expensive, but then again their gallon is about a 1/3 bigger than ours!

I don't understand why Americans continue to believe everything that we are fed. We need to wake up as a nation and realize there are better ways of doing things.

I might move to North Korea during Obama's 4 year term, it's less communist there.
