Great analogy. I haven’t heard it put this way before, but it's a great analogy I bought a bird feeder.?

Within a week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food. But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table, and next to the barbecue. Then came the poop. It was everywhere: on the patio tile, the chairs, the table...everywhere!

Then some of the birds turned mean. They would dive bomb me and try to peck me even though I had fed them out of my own pocket. And other birds were boisterous and loud. They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours of the day and night and demanded that I fill it when it got low on food. After a while, I couldn't even sit in my own back garden anymore. So I took down the bird feeder and in three days the birds were gone. I cleaned up their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the patio. Soon, the back yard was like it used to be ..... quiet, serene and no one demanding their rights to a free meal. Now let's see..... our government gives out free food, subsidized housing, free medical care, and free education and allows anyone born here to be an automatic citizen.

Then the illegal’s came by the tens of thousands.
Suddenly our taxes went up to pay for free services; small apartments are housing 5 families; you have to wait 6 hours to be seen by an emergency room doctor; your child's 2nd grade class is behind other schools because over half the class doesn't speak English.

Corn Flakes now come in a bilingual box; I have to 'press one' to hear my bank talk to me in English, and people waving flags other than the Union Jack are squawking and screaming in the streets, demanding more rights and free liberties.

Just my opinion, but maybe it's time for the government to take down the bird feeder. If you agree, well done it on; if not, continue cleaning up the crap!

The working class of this country is having everything taken away from them and directly given to these immigrants. Unfortunately, rich people are the ones who run this country and every last one of them would rather pay illegal immigrants less money to build and clean their houses, and mow their lawns. Their conscience is not bothered in the slightest by knowing that the only reason these people can charge less is because they DON'T PAY TAXES. They don't have to claim their earnings and are eligible for free health care. Most people my age that I know are working their asses off and can barely, if at all, afford health care. Soon, the working class of America will be gone - and we will be a third world country. We need to unite and fix this problem before its too late.

By the way Obama supporters: He actually said that we are using illegal immigrants as a "scapegoat" for the unemployment problem in this country!

I want to say i agree but where does that leave the hundreds of thousands of Brits that emigrate every year?
If emigration stops, why should we expect to be able to leave our country easily?
Have you ever been to the Med? Its virtually British, yet when people come to our back gardens, we hate it.

To the Americans answering, your immigration has no problems compared to ours in England. You have more space and land in most individual states than we do in our entire country! Also, your country was built on emigration- and theres loads of Americans living in my home town IN the UK

I wonder why we want these people when they can't even fix their own country. But they are willing to take the free medical, free lunch, free services, send money out of the US and not become part of our culture.
I do agree that we should spend some money and help Mexico. I do think that most illegal mexicans would stay in their country if they could make a living, I do think that an economy without a middle class is dangerous(we are in danger of becoming that economy).
Perhaps instead of insisting that illegals have the same rights as citizens maybe the focus should be on moving some of the money we are spending on Iraq to Mexico, that would be called a win-win situation.

I agree. Border enforcement alone won't solve the problem. The answer lies in aggressive enforcement of our laws to remove the reasons they come illegally (removing the feeder).

Prosecuting employers hiring illegal aliens to the fullest extent of the law is probably the most effective.
Deny housing to illegal aliens.
Deny bank accounts, drivers licenses, etc. to illegal aliens.
Deny any monetary assistance for any reason from any governmental agency to illegal aliens.

Denial of the above to illegal criminal aliens would do more than any border fence or increase in border security.

Remove or reduce the reasons they come and those here have no reason to stay, and those not here have no reason to come. Common sense.

The birds came to your back yard because they couldn't get what they required in their own back yard.

The governments in the countries that immigrants are coming from are not taking care of their own citizens. They are the ones to blame in this whole mess. But why should they bother? They are basically getting "free money" in the remittances the immigrants send back to their families.

The owner of the bird feeder, where the bird aet , did nothing for 20 years, and aet their eggs for all this time.

The use cheap labor , direct or indirect = eating the birds eggs.
