my daughter has sponsor me to get my green card we just send the papers what are the next steps ,how long before i have to take my finger prints and what goes next?

1st you will get receipts that your petition(s) has been received (on those you can actually find a number starting with three letters, with which you can track the status of your case online at uscis.gov), then, about a month later they will send you an invitation to have your biometrics taken. if you had gotten married to a us citizen, the next step they will issue you your EAD(employment authorization document) about 3months later, and couple of weeks after recieving your EAD you will get an invitation for your initial inerview, usually within 2-3 months. all this if you're lucky! i had my documents sent in june, first week of july had my biometrics, than in august they sent us a request for more evidence, which must have slowed the process, and i only got my EAD dec 26, that is 6months after i filed, and had my interview in the end of february! pray they won't require more evidence and check your status online! good luck! |
