I am not against immigration but illegal immigration must be stopped. This applies to everyone who is not a citizen of the United States but wants to take advantage of our government.

yeah i think that we really need to regualte our border.. I live in southern california like 20 min. away from Mexico, i had to learn spanish, it is almost imposible not knowing spanish to have a job here. !!!

I agree with you. A 10 foot fence with razor wire at the top...and we do not need snipers.

Couple this with taking 100% of entitlement programs away from illegals and punishing the crap out of employers who hire them.

dancedoo...You are right about SOME of their motives. But they are welcome to come here LEGALLY! As for creating jobs in Mexico, their govt is probably the most corrupt democracy on the planet. They have the ability to improve their economy, but the govt. finds it easier to send them here and have them send money back. As for other foreigners, you are wrong...if they are here illegally, WE WANT THEM OUT! But when over 90% of illegals are from Mexico, then it seems like we are picking on them.

Maybe we would be better able to help our "homeless," if our resources were'nt being diverted to meet the needs of MILLIONS of illegals and the jobs they take from us. They pick apples, etc. Who wants to pay for a $5 apple if the illegals were'nt here? The people who want an apple that bad. I don't eat apples. If I wanted one and it cost $5 to keep the flood of MILLIONS of illegals out, I would pay it. There are more Hispanics in this country than there are blacks. The blacks have been a significant portion of the US's population since the beginning. It is only because of a tidal wave of illegals coming to this country, that blacks have been surpassed in this regard. Whites would be a minority too, if there wasn't a flood of white people from Europe a hundred years ago. What has taken hundreds of years to establish in this country illegals are plowing down by their vast numbers.

I think snipers are a bit overboard, but we're already building a highway from Mexico to Canada. Our government isn't trying to keep anyone out. They say one thing and do another. This highway will allow SO many more ILLEGAL immigrants to come in, it's ridiculous. What we need to do, is pressure the government into enforcing the laws we have. If they did that...we would have no need for a wall.

Walls and snipers are very expensive. Snipers can be bribed, have attacks of conscience, or fall asleep on the job.

Land mines, OTOH, don't care who they blow up, or when, they can stay 'on the job' for decades, and they're cheap.

no one will ever go for that idea. it would cost more than "protecting" the border now already costs. plus, too many groups would complain that American's hate immigrants and Americans are intolerant. it would just cause more trouble.

Frankly I believe in continuing The Great White American Tradition, which is make money off them.

Since our leaders are so bent on legalizing them, why fight it? go with the flow. Start building credit cards for them that punish them with high interest rates. Offer them low affordable housing with high cost hidden fees. In short take major advantage of them.

In short, treat them like the current, white, American middle class.

They will still find a way in. It is fiscally impractical to build, maintain, and staff any kind of barrier that will keep people out.

The better solution for everyone is to help Mexico and other Latin America countries improve their economies so their people can actually earn a living and WANT to stay. As long as there are drastically better opportunities in the US, you will not stop people trying to get here.

Further more, most of those people coming to the US are coming here to work. And our economy is somewhat dependent on their cheap labor.
