They want to send the immgrants back because they have no empathy.
They can't immagine what is like to be born in a shanty town, with, no opportunity, and an average wage of 5 dollors a day.

They don't understand that the American dream is that you are meant to strive towards your goals to be successful,
not accept and live in a hovel.

Who would you want as a citizen of your country?
Someone who was born in your country, dropped out of education at 16, Has never had a job, exists on state benefits, and has a string of petty crime convictions.

OR

Someone who has the motivation to travel half way around the world to find a job,
Has a useful skill such as health care, or sets up their own business creating employent for other people from your country, or works hard and is prepared to do the jobs that natives are too lazy themselves to do.
Is higly educated and speaks at least two languages.
Is a law abiding citizen, who contributes alot to their new country.
BUT came as an illegal immigrant.

It seems to me that the only thing that has changed is immigration laws. If our ancestors tried to come here present day they would also be turned away and resort to breaking the law.

I was born in the US, so were my parents and grandparents. When their families came here from other countries, they did it "LEGALLY".
Besides, why can't people stay in their own country? If they don't like it, why don't they stay and try to fix it? People sure like to complain about " Ugly Americans" but it seems they don't mind coming here and taking advantage of us all the time. If you don't like how you're treated or how we act or the way we do things, then don't come here, it's as simple as that!
What if 12,000,000 Americans snuck into Mexico, took over their jobs, took their money, used their resources, put our kids in their schools and then started protesting because everything was in Spanish and we want it to be in English? Personally, my ancestors were on these shores when they came over from England. The only thing that separates Mexico from the U.S. is a invisible line they call a border. Canada also. If you erase those lines, you will see that we are all one continent. I don't know who's stupid idea it was to make that line, but it's there nonetheless. Oh wait, it was the people from England that made those lines in their greed to have all they could. I'm sure many of my ancestors would have gladly said go back to where it was you came from and live in peace. But alas, no.

No, but they tried. The natives lost when they fought the English, French, and Spanish. That's why we want immigrants who come here to go through legal channels, learn American English, and HISTORY.

However, this wasn't a unified nation back then. My grandmother was an immigrant, but she came here legally from fascist WWII Italy. If she could do it, people from places with much less turmoil should have an easier time of it. Illegal immigrants take jobs from legal immigrants and natural-born American citizens, many (not all) refuse to speak the language and want special treatment in this regard, and some have hatred or disrespect toward the American way of life. We don't need people like that here, we have enough born citizens who cause trouble, we don't need more.

My great grandparents came here straight off a boat from Italy. They registered, took citizenship classes, learned some of the language, and became productive, tax paying, "legal" citizens of this country.

What is so wrong with asking Mexico to do the same?

Back then Native Americans, had the thought that the land belonged to everyone. So no, they didn't send us back. And as soon as we got there we didn't really take the chance to ask them if they wanted us here and we really didn't care, honestly.

I think the biggest problem Americans have is with the lawlessness of some of the illegals. Many also say they want take over and put Mexican Flags over city halls and many Mexicans refuse to learn English. It causes major tensions. There is an answer. Bring back the National Guard and increase the amount of legal immigrant that can come in.
Legal Immigrants pay taxes. Then again, most taxes are being used to keep the National Guard in Afganisttan, Iraq, Iran? Syria....

This Immigration issue is simply being used as a device to win votes for a party who are seen as being "tough" on immigration & terrorists & other "perceived" enemies but whose sole reason for existing is to maintain the present wealth disparity, to maintain the power over the Have Nots.
