HSMP to ILR changes - retroactive implications?

I've read about the (re)changes to the HSMP to ILR route in the UK.
I started my HSMP visa at the end of Feb 2004 and, after 5 years (after they changed the qualification period from 4 to 5 years), I received my ILR in March 2009.
Now, with the recent changes (back to the original guidelines...) I would have qualified in Feb/March 2008. This means I've worked an extra, unnecessary year towards qualification as well as renewed my HSMP for one, unnecessary year.
Can anyone advise or guess or speculate on whether the most recent ruling (April 6, 2009) will involve retroactively allowing HSMP (and current ILR) holders to qualify for British citizenship early? What do people think?

Complicated question, since there is no such ruling for British Citizenship application & you already have ILR, so legally, this ruling doesn't effect ur case at all.
This ruling by court only applies to people who are waiting for their ILR. In my suggestion you will be asked to apply for citizenship one year from date of ur ILR. That will be March 2010. |

Technically "Yes". but you have to wait & watch till the implimentation of JR. Also check out with HSP Forum website. Hope you will get your answers. |
