Yes without a doubt Enoch Powell was right. I don't think it's a case of, will this end up in civil war, but a case of when.

I would say he is about 70-80% right at the moment and in the next 5-10 years he will probably be 100% right.
But will our politicians do anything about it NO.

Yes he has been proven correct there is nothing wrong with limited immigration. But this is wave of immigration that has been happening since 1948 is like nothing else.

Yes he has - many of our social problems can be traced to allowing inappropriate immigration. There are even specific Police initiatives aimed at violent black youth crime, a good example being 'Operation Trident'.There is also the obvious lack of interest by certain minority groups to integrate with British society other than through the benefit system. Then again there is the ethnic basis of all organised crime and the bogus asylum seeker scam.

By the way ; Powell never claimed that the Black man"the whip hand over the white man"?. There is a film clip where he is seen reading letters from his concerned constituents in which that phrase is used.

I think he was mostly wrong on this issue - immigration has brought far more benefits than detriments, but there are certainly some. I do respect Powell's intellect and rationality, but I don't agree he got it all correct.

Ethnic knife/gun crime and religious intolerance inspired censorship and violence are certainly problems today, but I think we have a tendency only to notice the problems and take for granted (and forget) all the benefits.

I don't advocate opening our doors to everyone who want to come in, but I do think we should allow, even encourage, immigration of people who would be a benefit to the state. Of course they'd have to fit in culturally and obey the laws, but I think that should equally be expected of the natives, many of whom also cause law-and-order problems.

Nope, I don't forsee civil war. Over the next few years we'll have far more problems trying to deal with the economic crisis than with any ethnic/immigrant problems, and I don't doubt we'll come through it and flourish.
