Its not that people hate immigrants. It's how they get into the country. I mean, yes they are people but what about those who go about the LEGAL way of coming to this country? It is a kick in the face to them. If someone wants to come here, do it the RIGHT way like so many choose to do. I have NO pity on someone who gets caught coming here illegally.

No we haven't forgotten (at least most of us)... I genuinely like most of the Mexican immigrants that I have met. We just don't have the natural resources to feed and house the entire world though, so many folks will have to make due with living in their own countries. Our population just reached 300million and land prices have gone insane... It is not that we don't want to help people improve their situations, but we have to bring them in in a controlled measured way so that we continue to be a country that most of the world admires as a great place to live.

Enforcing laws is not treating people badly. How many people do you think would come here to escape the bad things in their country if they could? Probably alot of people, and we both know the U.S can't handle that many people. We should help other countries develop and make better for themselves if they want us to, but there is no way possible we can take in every single person in this world who wants to be here. It would break us.

Of course they are human beings, otherwise they couldn't commit the crime of breaking our immigration laws. I can't remember anyone getting into a tizzy about Monarch butterflies crossing our borders. If Mexico wasn't so corrupt, Mexicans wouldn't be dieing to steal across our borders. I would much rather live in England, but I don't just go there illegally and work in a bar because it is the wrong thing to do.

If they come legally they are welcome, we cannot have people coming any time they want, every country has immigration laws.Deporting them is not treating them bad, it is law full and needed. The rapists, murderers, pedophiles, perverts, thieves and diseased Mexicans are coming with all the illegals, do you really think it is just good people that are crossing our border. Their are a lot that are here to do us harm and our children harm. And they will keep coming until we stop them, that is what Ellis Island was about in the early years of immigration, they came through Ellis Island, the criminals and diseases people were sent home. They don't have a right to come and stay when their are people that have done it legally and are waiting to come in and be Americans, it is not fair to them. They are ruining schools and health care in our border states by taking services like education and health care they should not be here to take. If you are a parent of a child or children in a ruined school, it is definitely 'something serious'.

Poor people do not make enough money to pay for education for their children or health care or other services that are subsidized for poor people in this country. That is why we have to limit how many can come. One or two we could overlook. However, 12 to 20 million is ruining our own children's future.

What right have they to do that?

Just like any other case of theft, their better life is at someone else's expense.

But I am extremely sick of them coming over here illegally, NOT learning to speak english, taking our jobs even if for low wages and treating us like we owe them something because they're here. It be different if they were willing to learn to speak and write english and earn a better living w/o acting like it's owed them. For that reason, they can go back to where they came from..and good riddance.

BUT - a great many of them coming out of Mexico, our beloved neighbor to the South, are drug dealers and members of the Mexican Mafia and other gangs. Yep, they can get more money for their drugs and the gang bangers have more people to kill and steal and rob from. Suppose you could call that trying to get a better life. If they're illegals, they should all be rounded up and sent back to where they came from the same way they got here - a forced march across the desert or in swimming the Rio Grande. All of us legal Americans have rules we have to follow. If the ywant to come here and get a part of it, then they need to do it by the rules, or YES, they deserve to be talked down to.

As long as they aren't willing to it the right way, then I have no care at all for them or their feelings. When they respect this country and what it is about, then I will gladly accept them.

We have not forgotten that they are people, but unlike you, a lot of us haven't forgotten that they are breaking the law when they come into our country. They are breaking the law when they rent an apartment in our country, they are breaking the law when they get a job in our country. And a lot of them that come over the border are doing so because they broke the law in their own country. So I treat everyone that breaks the law numerous times the same way, like the scum they are. They need to go back where they came from and change their country instead of trying to turn my country into a sh.it hole like the one they crawled out of. If you want into my country, learn my language, assimilate to my culture, waive my country's flag, and go through the legal steps. If you cannot do so, I feel sorry for you, but stay away.

I have certainly not forgotten. I have great sympathy for that man who just wants to make enough money to feed his kids.
I am not scared of the hard working illegal who sneaks across the border. It's the drug dealers, criminals, etc, that slip in along with them. We need to seal the border & reform immigration law so we can let the good, hard-working people in, & keep the scum out. (we have enough scum of our own - we don't need more)
I am also concerned with those who don't learn English. I think everyone should learn a second language, but that includes immigrants (illegal or otherwise). Learn English!

But there are people who feel threatened by those who actually have a healthy work ethic as well as those who just don't want any more "beaners" in America. Please don't lump me with either of those groups.

It's is fair to look at why someone is against illegal immigration. It is not fair to assume the reason is racism. I hope that's not what you are doing.

I want immigrants to continue to come to America. I just want them to come here legally.

Unfortunately, the current system makes it hard to immigrate legally, & easy to immigrate illegally.

Actually many of them are just that.

I have personally arrested over 1500 illegals for those crimes and many more. You left out child molestation, home invasion, selling of narcotics, assault (on legal citizens), and my least favorite " Gang Violence".
