Yes, actually. Many years ago I applied for a job at this one particular place where they gave you a "psychological/sociological" questionnaire. It asked the same questions over and over and over -- but just in a different way, with different wording. It was REALLY long. The point of the questionnaire was to determine whether or not you were "honest" and whether or not you were the "type of person" who could socially fit in with the other workers.
I didn't even finish filling it out. It was preposterous. There were questions about a "guy stealing a loaf of bread from a convenience store if his family was hungry." Crap like that. |

yep- try getting an application form from WHSmith...talk about ridiculous. They ask you to write down how you would sell a product......on the bleedin application form. Sack that! |

yes. a few yrs ago i filled in very long application form had 2 interviews did role play etc etc and then when they told me i had to attend a 3rd interview i gave up ....it was for a p/t sales assistant at the Body Shop! i went over the road to boots and got a job after 15 min chat with the personnel manager and a very simple form.
likewise i have just received a 6 page application for a one afternoon a week receptionist job. it annoys me when i see someone advertising for a cleaner for say 2 hrs a week "....pls send CV" how ridiculous is that and that reminds me one day i saw a badly handwritten sign in our local poundstretcher window sales assistant required pls submit CV again OTT for the job. . |
