You don't usually lose jobs to illegal aliens. They usually work in manual labor jobs and in sweatshop environments that none of us legals want to work in.

First of all, it's very risky for the employer to employ illegals and they'd have to be pretty stupid to fire you then hire an illegal ... that's ASKING for trouble!

There are 6 major employers where I am from in Texas. There used to be jobs that anyone could do and make decent money. The illegals took all of them and drove the wages down. This isn't something that happens over six months. It happens over years. The following isn't really a joke, if you think about it.

MR. PRESIDENT, I'M HEADED TO MEXICO (Humor? You decide!)

Subject: MR. PRESIDENT, I'M HEADED TO MEXICO
Dear President Bush:
I'm about to plan a little trip with my family and extended family, and I would like to ask you to assist me. I'm going to walk across the border from the U.S. into Mexico, and I need to make a few arrangements. I know you can help with this.
I plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, ports, immigration quotas and laws. I'm sure they handle those things the same way you do here.
So, would you mind telling your buddy, President Vicente Fox, that I'm on my way over? Please let him know that I will be expecting the following:
1. Free medical care for my entire family.
2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I might need, whether I use them or not.
3. All government forms need to be printed in English.
4. I want my kids to be taught by English-speaking teachers.
5. Schools need to include classes on American culture and history.
6. I want my kids to see the American flag flying on the top of the flag pole at their school with the Mexican flag flying lower down.
7. Please plan to feed my kids at school for both breakfast and lunch.
8. I will need a local Mexican driver's license so I can get easy access to government services.
9. I do not plan to have any car insurance, and I won't make any effort to learn local traffic laws.
10. In case one of the Mexican police officers does not get the memo from Pres. Fox to leave me alone, please be sure that all police officers speak English.
11. I plan to fly the U.S. flag from my house top, put flag decals on my car, and have a gigantic lebration on July 4th. I do not want any complaints or negative comments from the locals.
12. I would also like to have a nice job without paying any taxes, and don't enforce any labor laws or tax laws.
13. Please tell all the people in the country to be extremely nice and never say a critical word about me, or about the strain I might place on the economy.
I know this is an easy request because you already do all these things for all the people who come to the U.S. from Mexico. I am sure that Pres. Fox won't mind returning the favor if you ask him nicely.
However, if he gives you any trouble, just invite him to go quail hunting with your V.P.

Most of the jobs that go to "aliens" are of the low paying variety. I suggest that if you have lost a job like this that you learn to speak Spanish. Then you could work better along side them and with your better understanding of the two cultures help get them organized earning better wages for them and you.

To be honest......I doubt even an undocumented worker would want my job or my hours.......so I don't have much worry there.

It is not a matter of loosing a job to one. It is about them working cheaper than you can. Every time you see an illegal working he or she is keeping you from making more money. If there are three jobs and only two workers the company who needs an employee has to offer more money to get one of the two workers to come to work for them. Then once they get the employee to come to work for them , then the company that just lost a worker needs to pay more to get the employee back. Now it just keeps going this way till another person reaches an age that he can join the workforce. Now if you go back to the beginning and add an illegal alien then all the company's have enough employees. Therefore no need to offer more money. Then low and behold a second illegal alien comes along and says he will work cheaper then either of the three employees. Well being a cheap thrifty business man he hires the guy and fires the higher paid American employee. Thus the down slide in wages starts.

If you had lost a job to a illegal alien you must be very unprepared and had a very low work standards no matter what you do.Get a carer.

I know some one that isn't making as much in his job because of illegals. He cuts meat, it use to be one of the good jobs but now days they hire illegals for around $8 an hour. Being a meat cutter or butcher was one of the good trade's years ago, not anymore the trade is dead.

yes and i know a guy who had to shut down his construction business as he was always being undercut and he wont hire illegals , he asked the ss office if he could call to see if the numbers they give are real and they said that is discrimination whats that about? and my brothers used to be in roofing but its flooded here with illegals that's all they want to hire now

Yes, and I have lost a janitoral business to illegal immigrants, under bidding me because they did not have the same over head that I had. Nor did they pay the $750.00 quartly tax to be in business.
If an illegal Immigrant has a job in America and pays taxes, they are using stolen Identification, and that is a Felony, even for an American.
