Your comments are essentially correct. Most white Americans don't like to remember that their nation was founded by slave owners whose sole interest in freedom was to avoid paying English taxes on all those slaves they owned. Likewise, Americans generally either don't know or don't want to know that they live such fat, comfortable lives because their government insinuates itself into poorer countries all around the world, overthrowing democracies and replacing them with dictatorships propped up by death squads, just so that the poor of those nations can be exploited and the natural resources stolen... and, all of it, just so Americans can have all the cheap, easily disposable crap that they just love to waste their sheer wealth on. This is such a big issue and has many faces. However my thought is just one view. I am A Native American and we were not slaves. We fought for our freedom but were brought into submission by the forces of the beginning of a corrupt government that signed treaties with the many Native Tribes of the nation. Treaties that to this day have not been honored. Many treaties have been broken. We have about 568 federal Tribal sovereign nations that deal with this immigration issue. Immigrants that take away our jobs,lands,services and impose their languages into our schools,social services,state,city and federal governments.What rights do immigrant have? I'm not against foreigners being in the United States, but why can't they do it legally? What is the problem with going through the process of doing it legally, therefore no one can argue your citizenship?

I agree that it's okay for people born in other countries to come to the US, but only if it's done according to the laws of the country. Same as with any other country and people migrating there.

Yes the US at one time permitted slavery. This was a common practice throughout the world, not just the US, including African, Spanish, Incan, Mayan, and Aztec cultures (pretty much the ancestors of present day Mexico, Central America, and South America) as well as the Native Americans. But no one wants to hear about that, the US makes a much bigger target!

In the days that you are talking about slavery was legal but the irony of this was that Africans sold Africans. Now about the condition that these citizens live in Mexico and other 3rd world countries, is their government responsibility to take care of their poor citizens, not the USA. The USA send millions and millions of aid to all of these country and what their government do with the money, well they steal it. AND, about your people coming illegally to the USA, well is wrong and we don't like it and we will not support it. No, I don't think that. Americans pretty much DIDN'T take natives as slaves, you are thinking of the Spanish in Mexico. We did take people sold to us by other Africans as slaves, and we are responsible for them. Of all the many things they have asked us for, however, going BACK is not one of those things. Those still in Africa, obviously, we never took.

Number one......I didn't have anything to do with what happened hundreds of years ago. None of my past relatives owned a slave or had anything to do with any of it. I even have American Indian in me so I suppose some relative managed to get along quite well with them. Africa's poverty or Mexico's poverty has nothing to do with it. They have their own governments to manage what goes on there. We send millions to these 3rd world countries and it is a shame they never manage to get it to the people who need it or use it in a manner to help them. First off I did nothing wrong to the Mexicans, Indians, or the Africans. I am a born US citizen and I am of Irish and German decent and the Irish were also slaves at one time in the US (not very good ones because Irish don't listen too well and like a good fight). The Africans were sold into slavery by their own people and the land lost by the Mexicans to America was sold by Santa Anta so it is not all on the people of European decent. Every country has been passed from one culture to another via war throughout history so should all land be given back to the descendants of the original culture. America is wealthy due to the type of free government that was established here and the lack of invasions from others and not because of the people who were exploited in the past. We don't owe Mexico or anyone else anything for what happened years ago but we owe it to each other to be as good as we can and our government owes it to the taxpaying citizen to protect a peaceful and safe country.

BTW I am not saying that the people you mentioned were treeted with utmost respect or even justly but the past is just that. What I see to be important is what and how the country acts going forward. Allowing illegals to stay doesn't benefit the peace and safety of the country and it also allows the illegals themselves to be exploited. There is a better way than allowing them to stay but if we want to return to the ways of the wild west we can not enforce our laws and allow the people with the most firepower to rule.

If a person wants to continue living in a substandard life then wallow in self pity and waste time finding someone to blame their problems on and a continued life of failure is assured. Illegal immigration is unfair to those of us who are citizens. We have to fork over our tax dollars to pay for the welfare and medicaid for these illegal aliens. They come over, don't bother to learn the language of this country, and expect everyone to just give them everything. America is a great country, and people can live the "American Dream" but those are the people who have motivation, who come here and try. How presumptuous would I be if I moved to China and expected them to start training all Chinese workers to speak English because of me. Or if I expected them to put signs up in English just for me? First, to all of those who say that Africans were sold to Whites by other Africans; yes, this may be true in some cases, but in most, the Africans were captured by Whites. Regardless, does that justify the deplorable conditions in which slaves endured? Hell no! If there are undocumented immigrants who have been in this country for 10, 15 or 20 years, it means that the US really needs them. Why not legalize them? The US has invited undocumented immigrants by not taking care of the US border and by taking too much time to give green cards to those who are waiting in our countries because is better if they come undocumented since they cannot complain and can be enslaved. According to the Department of Labor, almost one millions of cropâ€™s workers are undocumented immigrants. The cheap labor they provide is very important to the $30 billions in the crop industry within the United Estates. This is not the only industry they work.

How undocumented immigrants contribute to the economic of the United States:

1) Millions of undocumented immigrants are paying federal, local y states taxes. IRS collected $8.5 billions only on year 2004. However, these people do not receive any benefit such as pension, Medicare among others
2) All undocumented immigrants pay sales taxes. Besides that, undocumented immigrants pay local, federal y estates taxes as well as local y state sub charges included on services such as telephone, gas, electricity among others. Do extremist politicians take into account this? No
3) Many undocumented immigrants earn miserable wages; donâ€™t have vacation, sick days, work overtime without receiving extra dollars for that, investors donâ€™t offer them a health insurance. Who win? the government and investors. If investors exploit these undocumented immigrants to cut expenses, this means investors increase their revenues if they increase their revenues they pay more taxes. Therefore, these exploited undocumented immigrants pay or contribute to the economy double than many of us. The government knows this and that is why they have not done anything to protect the US border. Do extremist politicians show this contribution when they show their financial reports? Never.
4) The US exports corruption by transnational, military men spread around the word. US also intervenes in â€œthird word countriesâ€ governments, it has the money to do it. It does not ratify international laws to protect transnational and military men around the world. These transnational many times destroy the microeconomics of those countries where the undocumented immigrants come from. All of these things make these people to leave their countries. Besides that, these transnational buy local businesses in â€œthird world countriesâ€ since small businesses cannot compete with them. Later, these transnational sell the products and services to "illegal" people in the US. And the money undocumented immigrants send to their families members also return to the US by the transnational as well. Again, do extremist politicians show this contribution when they show their financial reports? Never.

6) There are undocumented immigrants who have small businesses. They contribute to this nation by increasing employment, taxes, dollar value. We know that the petroleum and its derivate are the natural resources that the world need since we donâ€™t have explored enough other type of energies. Nevertheless, our countries are obligated to buy petroleum to the OPEC with petrodollar, thanks to this; the dollars maintain its supremacy. If there is a country that tries to change the dollar to another currency such petroeuro, the destiny will be an invasion. Saddam Hussein killed 5 thousands people. However, any country of America condemned this act. Nevertheless, ones Hussein changed the petrodollar to the petroeuro the US did not hesitate to invade Irak and return the petrodollar. However I dont think illegal immigrants should be "shipped" back over the boarder if they've been living here and have families and lives here. I know its not right for them to come over illegally too though. I live in Arizona and I know here we have Coyotes (sp.) which are people that go and watch the boarder in their own time and try to catch people crossing the boarder. I dont agree with them at all!!! I know they're choosing to do it in their own time, but they're not Boarder Patrol and have no ties with the Law. I've heard stories of them taking matters into their own hands and there's no justification for that in my eyes.

And as far as what your sub said to your class: I HATE when ignorant people say things like " They need to go back to where they came from". They're people too. And if it were Americans that lived in the types of situations most of them do, then THEY'D be trying to better themselves or their families too! And last time I checked most of the SW used to be Mexico...so who really belongs where??

The correct term is undocumented no human being is illegal. All "white Americans" are undocumented Europeans there paper work is fake, they murdered and cheated for this land. Created a burecracy of red tape to protect there lies and theft. The truth is buried in the "His-tory" books.
