Let my make some remarks to the previous contributions.
1. The first contributor has provided commercial published information which was valid until December 2008 when Switzerland joined the Schengen Agreement for border-less travel in central Europe. A student visa is not needed for tourists.
2. The second contribution is almost correct except that the Swiss Embassy has outsourced the application appointment process and the application information through VFS Global.
3. The third contribution is wrong. The French Embassy will reject a visa application if the only or main destination is Switzerland.
4. I won't add any remarks to stupidish and provocant contributions.
Now to the facts.
It depends solely on your (unknown) citizenship whether you will need visa for Switzerland. The first source provides a list of visa waived countries for tourist travel for up to 90 days in a 6 month period. If your country should not be listed you all would have to apply for a visa.
If your dad has a citizenship which requires a visa for Switzerland he will have to apply for it from his country since only persons who stay in the UK on a long term visa or residence permit may apply for a Schengen visa from there. The second source shows a list of Swiss Representation for visa application.

Now switzerland is a part of schengen (earlier u do not need visa if u had Uk residence visa) so now all of you will need to apply for a schengen visa- you, your wife and your sister will need to apply in swiss embassy in London. you will need to show that you can support yourself, have a work, return flight tickets, hotel accomodation proof etc.
your dad will need to apply for schengen visa from where he is coming from. its very difficult to get schengen visa in UK, if he will be here in a UK tourist visa |

so ask ur dad to get a schengan visa by applying in french embassy in his country.
all 3 of u can get a schengan visa from swiss or french embassy in uk. |
