came to uk on 28 june 2004.my visa started from 10 june 2004 which was valid till 10 june 2007 and i got tha visa extended till 2011.i started working on 2nd july 2004.when should i apply for permanent residency in uk. my son is in india on depended visa.he has never come to uk.if i have to apply for his permanent residency how should i do that. he has to come here? if i apply for my pr with my wife and get that in 2-3 months. can my son come to uk on dependent visa easily? what will be the status of his visa. should i wait for him to come to uk and then apply for pr?

it is easy , safe, and save u money,if all of u apply together.if u r not away from uk 90 days at a stretch,then u can apply from 28th may 2009.
u can get ILR stamped for ur son through british embassy in ur country after getting ur ILR.
If u want apply here home office needs his passport,it is not necessary for him to be present in uk,if he is less than 16.
yes ur son can come to uk on dependant visa till the validity period.
pls do not wait apply asap becoz rules may change anytime. |

And then when they come will they apply for visa's for the rest of their family also? mother, father, brothers, sisters, in-laws, hundreds of thousands of people like you do the same thing all the time, if you told the truth in the first place why you were coming to work here you would not have got your visa! this country is overloaded so unless you are going to build your own house on your own land that you have paid for and not bother taking up the valuable housing that is so sadly unavailable for the inhabitants of this land, leave this country and go back to your wife and kids. |

It depends on your visa status. Unless your are tier 1 then my understanding a work permit does not grant you the ability to apply for permanent residency. For you son to get a dependent visa he must be under the age of 18 at the time of application and if he is at least 18 years of age he cannot get a dependent visa regardless of your status. |

First you have to pass the Life in the UK exam and an English language exam. After you do that, you can apply for ILR anytime after 28 May 2009 (one month before your 5 years of legal continuous residence). |
