You can certainly file an I-130 immigrant petition for him. As a green card holder, you can file for a spouse and any unmarried children in the F2a immigrant visa category. That's the good news. The bad news is that those petitions take a minimum of 5 years before they become valid for use from the time they are filed. Until that point, it doesn't provide any immigration benefits. Now, if you do become a US citizen while waiting for the petition, it will be upgraded to an IR-1 spouse of a US citizen petition and will be valid for use immediately after it's approved. However, if you do, be sure to tell the immigration service about your petition, because they won't go looking for it unless you tell them to. |

I don't know how, but I'm pretty sure you could bring him over if you have a greencard, although it would be harder of course than if you were a citizen. |

you cannot, only citizens can do this.
I brought my wife here from Taiwan because I am American.
She now has a greencard, but she cannot bring anyone in her family over ie. mom, dad.
you must be a citizen, if not, you cannot do it. |
