I'm not American but Canadian ..its not Mexicans here but another group that statistics canada says in 10 years will be more in population .(indian ( needless to say my view with any country ...when you go to another country you should adpt yourself to its traditions and laws.My friend placed it this way in a conversation at work if we were to go to India we would not get a job if we refused to adapt to their culture . language or tradition. You should respect the country you want to become a citizen of, or stay in your own ...where you do not have to adapt |

Not really, but I think the school system deserves quite a bit of the blame for this. Why on earth are we not teaching these children English?!? It is so sad to see someone with an American high school diploma who can't speak English. Hell, it's not just sad - it's an OUTRAGE. |

No. That is why they continue to wave their stupid native flags rather than that of the U.S. They insist on being taught in their native tongue. They continue to disrespect our country by getting arrested over and over again. But why wouldn't they? They broke the law to get here! They refuse to even try to speak english in public, like at a mc donalds, etc. Its sick. |

It's seems like us Americans have had to assimilate to the Mexican culture and language instead of vice versa. When in America do as the Americans do :) |

NO
They never will they do not want to be Americans just rape the USA for what they can |

Yes, I know a few, but I'm not gonna lie that MANY (if not the majority) just don't care but it's because of their low education. |

hell no.THEY NEED TO GO. |

of course there are a select few and i commend them for doing so. however, what i see the majority doing is creating a subculture in america. by keeping themselves separate from americans, there are only doing themselves a disservice: by doing that they will never learn how the integrate or speak english. and if they don't learn english, they will not get good jobs. basically, they are keeping themselves low on the totem pole. i don't understand why 70% of all high school students who take a foreign language class in the US choose to take spanish; that only encourages them to not try and learn english. if i went to another country to live there, i would try and learn THEIR language, not vice versa. |

I'm wondering how you can tell who is legal and who is illegal just by looking at them. Or do you just assume any Hispanic person you see is illegal? That's pretty narrow-minded. |

I'm the same boat as you with the language issue, but really, when you come here at the age of 30 its a ***** to learn a brand new language. Do you live in Southern Cali? Most of my adult neighbors do not speak English so you literally have to have there 10 year olds to translate for you. At least they are getting it.
Seriously obeying the laws? I bet 75% of Americans break more laws that immigrants ie: traffic violations, casual drug use, shoplifting, tax evasion... the list goes on. Just because an immigrant broke a law that you think should be upheld, doesn't make you better than them. |

Working hard and obeying the laws- yes.
Speaking more english and becoming 'americanized'- only those who are planning on staying. Many illegals are just here to work, send money back to support their families, and then go back to Mexico. Many don't wish to be Americans. |

Well some yes. But I think we just have to give them time. Remember that it may not be easy for them to leave their old life way. |

Unfortunately no. |

no. it's been made too easy for them to want to NOT do these things. |

Yes, I know someone very well who is illegal but obeys the law ( well, besides not having updated papers)... works... pays taxes.... celebrates American Holidays and has tried to learn our culture. |

Yes I do. Sorry to burst your bubble. |

Some do. But it is my opinion that they do not want to be American, they just want to work here, get paid and take the dollars back to their countries. I believe the people who bring there family's here want to assimilate into our country and became a good American. I wish there was a way to support those that want to really be Americans with out rewarding the those who do not. |

You're grouping illegals as a whole, as if they were all the same and displayed the same type of behavior. Because Americans are legal does that mean there are no american criminals, no Americans on welfare, or committing welfare fraud, and would you want to be grouped in there with them because you are an American as well? I know I wouldnt want to be. So, back to your question, I think each case is different. As far as speaking english, I saw someone earlier post something about knowing people who have been here for a long time and still do not know the language, that's not good, I agree, but sometimes the ones who are working alot do not have time to take classes or are in jobs where they dont have to speak, I mean for those that work out in the fields all day, how many opportunities each day do you think they have to speak with someone in english? Not much, I'll tell you that. It can be done, they can do it, but with everything translated anyways, why would they? |
|

the big one
|
i sure don't. they will never do a thing like that. they have no intention on being anything like americans. they love mexico and the mexican way of life and they will always be that way. they want nothing to do with "white trash" |
|

schflng
|
no,but they do expect us bend over backwards for them! |
|

?

I don't see many Mexicans or PR'icans trying to do any of those things. I am not sure if they are illegal because I haven't asked for their green card. Either way...I see, in my town, a complete lack of respect for laws, the English language, and basic rules of hygiene and cleanliness. I also ALWAYS see them at home or on their porch making a scene. ?? Do they work 3rd shift? Maybe... Do all of them work 3rd shift? Probably not. I'm sure this means they are unemployed.
Sorry...not being racist, but these are real life observations for me. It is not my fault that Mexicans and PR'icans exhibit this behavior. They are responsible for themselves as human beings trying to thrive in society. |

No I dont see it,in fact the illegals in my town laugh at Americans, they say you will pay for whatever we want and we will send the money we make back home, and we will never be Americans you gringos are generouse. Gosh rinkrat, you dont get out much, they thanks they are special, they rant and rave about being illegal. They dont mind telling ya. |

Not a chance. They just wave their Mexican flag, DEMAND that we speak Spanish and put their hand out for benefits they don't deserve.
They are just waiting for congress to do the same wrong thing that Reagan did in the 1980s - give them amnesty. Then we can start up the next batch of illegal alien criminals for the next round of amnesty in 20 years. |
|

You don't understand...they don't care! They want to make USA into Mexico. They don't want to learn english or our ways, they just want our country's money and our land! So far their plan is working! |
|

lonewolf1
|
Of course many obey the law (except for the one they broke getting here), and learning english and trying to learn our ways, they are trying to blend in and not get caught and get deported!!!! |
|

cantcu

Oh please!
Your Republican Congress had 12 years to address the issue. Don't blame the illegals that your ilk want to use them as slave labor! That is against the law!
They most likely speak better English than you do! I bet you speak little Spanish! |
