Heck, I'm thinking about going across the border INTO Mexico while our dollar is still worth something against the peso. |

Yep. Especially when American companies advertise down there for workers. I don't blame the illegal immigrants at all, I just want them to go away. |

Don't get me wrong, I am a Mexican. But, Americans give the Mexicans so many reasons to come here. It is very tempting to come here, legal or ilegal. I think America should leave the hard working people that actually work for a living, stay here. But, U.S. has a way of knowing how Mexicans are abusing the system. I have no problem with them getting deported. I have friends that I am ashamed of for that reason. Don't have a job, and don't want one, because of welfare and freebees. |

You bet I would. Why not when all would be handed to me on a silver platter once I get in? And to top it off just let someone pick on me because I am an alien. I scream foul and claim discrimination. Wow! big bucks on a sue job and more easy money on my silver platter. |

It would depend on my level of desperation. If I could feed and cloth my family with a roof over our heads no I would not. If my kids were starving to death and there were no other resources for me then yes I would. |
|

Do you know me?
 |
Yes |

If I were a Mexican I might well sneak across the border and if I were a US border patrol officer I would arrest Mexicans sneaking across the border. If I were a hardworking US citizen seeing my town invaded by illegals I would work to keep them from coming across. If I were a Mexican that successfully made it across, and then started milking the system and taking advantage of legal loopholes in a generous nation, and worked my way up and got a job paying twice as much as many Americans earn, I would feel guilty when I heard legal American citizens talk about the problems I was creating in their country. If I was a Mexican with a conscience it would begin to bother me that all the success I built in the USA was built upon a foundation of lies and illegal acts.
I can empathize with people who sneak across, I can see why they do it, but my empathy for them doesn't make it right, and doesn't mean that we should stop enforcing our immigration laws. |

Yes, I probably would give it a try! I guess I would assume that I had nothing to lose by trying & I just might make it, at least for a few months & that would mean that I could feed my family for awhile, so why not? |

I definitely would not want to live there, however the trip into this country is not a cake walk as it is made out to be. My brother in laws just returned and we are lucky to see them alive. Walking in the dead of night through snow and canyons just so you might be able to provide for your family is a horrible way to have to go about it. And how about the $2-4,000.00 you pay to the 'coyote' so you can come up here and have it all handed to you on a silver platter. How about this, we stop thinking of those dirty filthy ill legals across the border as dirt and we do something to seriously change the laws here. I was just down there and it is a $1 to $10.65 exchange rate but when it costs $20 pesos for a gallon of milk and the American corporation you are working for only pays you $150 pesos a week its kind of hard to survive. It's not a simple matter of them being lazy so lets just jump a fence... i would suggest you really try it. |

HUH?!!!
Did you say 1 dollar over here is like ten bucks over there?
Reality Check...
Mexico has the 11th wealthiest economy on EARTH!!!
Their middle class is growing faster than most developing nations, Eastern European economies, especially.
Mexico's GDP? 1.3 TRILLION U.S DOLLARS!!!!
We hear these things because we're being played by our own media. Being told things that any loyal citizen of Mexico would be embarrassed for us...embarrassed that we could believe such nonsense.

Heck yeah!!
I would much rather make mininum wage here than .02cents an hr in Mexico.
It looks like you are starting to get the point of some of the reasons why Mexicans cross the border !
Whats illegal is making .02 cents an hr. Now, that is a crime, lol. :) |

I don't know. I'm an American living in the US. I would like to think that I would follow the laws and respect another nation enough to follow their laws. I would like to think I would apply to go to the US honestly as opposed to sneaking around for the rest of my life. Knowing what is here, I don't see what is so great about this country that others would risk their lives and want to sneak around for the rest of their lives to be here. |
