Maybe you should change your essay to talk about the opposite! Illegal immigrants DO NOT drain our resources! Because there are more factual reports on this topic. Illegal immigrants have been banned from most Government Programs since 1996 when Congress passed (and President Clinton signed) the welfare-reform law known as the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act. From then on, only citizens or legal immigrants, such as those with a Green Card, were eligible for federal benefits......so it's hard to believe people on here when they say that they are a burden. In-fact! they actually pay more in taxes, and pump more into our economy, then in the little services they are eligible for.

Immigrants Pay More in Taxes Than They Use in Services Over Their Lifetimes: Depending on skills and level of education, each immigrant pays, on average, between $20,000 and $80,000 more in taxes than he or she consumes in public benefits. (See: AILF.com)

It’s a widely held misperceptions: Undocumented immigrants pay no taxes but take advantage of a slew of taxpayer-supported federal benefits such as food stamps, Medicaid and Medicare (the health care programs for the poor and the elderly), Social Security, housing and hospital services. |

CA - Eliminate Illegal Immigration to Eliminate State Deficit

Just one countys example of expenses due to illegals. Don't forget that there are thousands of counties across the country in the same boat.
"The exception for K-12 education, though, is a pretty big one -- and it's borne, generally, by state and local governments. Wisconsin is an example, as shown in this report
on a study in March by that state's Policy Research Institute:
The data show Brown County loses an average of about $9 million a year on immigrants. In other words, immigrants consume more in state and local services than they pay into the system through state and local taxes. The biggest cost burden is education for children, which is the most expensive public service."
So they may "pay" at the federal level, but net costs tend to be concentrated at the state and local levels." |

The resources have to be paid by someone and that "someone" is the tax payer. Health care, education, welfare are all taxpayer-funded.
Helping the destitute is one thing during an economic boom, but that develops a dependency on those who are receiving these hand-outs. Right now we are in a recession-depression and can't afford to be so thrifty. Ergo, the cuts in social spending should come from those who aren't paying into it. Is it fair? Is it fair to give those who are not entitled to health care, education and welfare who are legally not entitled to this? |

4-5 million anchor babies currently in the US. All are eligible for welfare, WIC, free school breakfast & lunch and health care.
About 380,000 anchor babies born each year on the taxpayers dime, over $3 billion. |

They deplete hospitals, public schools, welfare, the list goes on and on. They love it, tax payers are toting the note. |

Both of the above have testified before Congress, and written extensive reports on this horror story.
You will be tempted with foundation reports. The Pew is one that I have consistantly poked rather large holes in and was an outgrowth of the Ford Foundation and its processes demanding open borders. La Raza will also be offerred for their side. Check this site out... they are predominately open borders and it will provide you with an understanding of the immense wealth that is pulling with La Raza and the illegal aliens.
Further, do a search in this area... Catholic undocumented, or catholic illegal alien support. You will discover another huge source of wealthy supporting the illegal aliens as they strive to rack the American Taxpayers.
My side per foundations?

It pleases me enormously... it is becoming the standard in impartial examination.
=================================
Before you accept the idea that the illegal aliens are purity defined, you need to know you cannot be in this country for longer than six months without an identification. The Mexican Mafia has been supplying those for a long, long time. Federal Jobs were very easy to get with the remarkable ability of the Mexican Mafia to produce any and all identifications they might want. That ability, by the way, has an excellent potential to destroy this country. |

THEY DON'T! they pump BILLIONS into our economy, and pay BILLIONS in taxes every year to.

Illegal immigrants pay taxes, too
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The tax system collects its due, even from a class of workers with little likelihood of claiming a refund and no hope of drawing a Social Security check.
Illegal immigrants are paying taxes to Uncle Sam, experts agree. Just how much they pay is hard to determine because the federal government doesn't fully tally it. But the latest figures available indicate it will amount to billions of dollars in federal income, Social Security and Medicare taxes this year. One rough estimate puts the amount of Social Security taxes alone at around $9 billion per year.

Report: Illegal immigrants contribute billions to state
If Nevada’s undocumented workers left tomorrow, the state would lose tens of thousands of jobs and billions of dollars, according to the first report to quantify the impact.
The study, from the Houston-based Americans for Immigration Reform, estimates 45,000 jobs would be lost over time and $9.6 billion would no longer circulate through Nevada’s economy each year. |
