Anyone who read this as if this was coming from someone who would actually benefit from the immigration reform bill is an idiot. This is obviously posted by a fearful American who thinks someone wants his lame 15hr job. Nobody wants your woman, your job, your car, your tv or your sneakers. You will still be living your sad little life whether or not people who are working hard actually make a living wage. The fact that you would want to keep people poor for fear that it might infringe on your pitiful lifestyle is the saddest thing I've ever seen.

You may be getting amnesty, but you will still have to go through the process of legalizing your status with all that it implies, costs, background check, etc. There is more to a 15hr job than you think, you are still a manual laborer and lack the education and skills to take that double jump.Don't think Congress will make it that easy, wait and see what is expected of you in exchange for amnesty, lol.

I am a professional with a license..unless you plan on getting your butt to college, and taking a test i dont see that happening whether they pass that bill or not. People like you make me sick. I dont make 15 an hour either, so what are you talking about. You talking about unskilled labor? If you were smart you'd go to school and get an education, then get a well paying job. Sounds like you dont know what you are talking about. As for me cleaning your toilet or mowing your lawn, lol ya right...never will happen.

We have to trust that people will hire the person most qualified for the job. Just having amnesty doesn't guarantee you a high paying job any more than crossing the border guarantees you a busty blonde and a fast car.

Without an education, you will still be working at Arby's for $2 an hour.

Much as I appreciate your optimistic rhetoric and wish (and hope) that what you say is true, I have to also point out that what some of the people are saying is also true too. For example I canâ€™t imagine that a company would hire an immigrant worker for a job simply based on the fact that theyâ€™re willing to work for less money or that they might even have an ethnic quota to fill, qualifications also have a lot to play in that decision as well.

A perfect example of this is several years ago I worked for a very nice hotel as a cook, the restaurant had about 20 cook staff running the kitchen and easily the majority of the staff was of Latino descent. After spending several months working there I gradually found out that none of them were making more than $7 to $8 per hour, even though they were all legal residents of the country. Part of this I theorized was because they had a tendency to sell themselves down in order to get a job to begin with (their parents took jobs that paid little and managed to make do and so why should they push their luck and not get hired asking for more money), whereas I was making over twice as much because I had a college degree in culinary arts.

I now have my own restaurant and I also hire a good number of Hispanicâ€™s, simply because they have a work ethic that I admire (part of this is because Iâ€™m Native American), I start my kitchen help at a decent starting wage and treat them with respect. I also can tell when a new employee is trying to undersell themselves in order to get a job. I canâ€™t tell you how many times that happen. The point is, is that some of my Latino cooks are looking forward to this bill passing so they can have their families come out here to work legally; they know that theyâ€™ll be able to go into another job and not have to undersell themselves in order to find work. Those that are planning on staying with me also know that just because this bill passes (which Iâ€™m for) doesnâ€™t mean that they can expect to get paid more from me. I try to be a fair and understanding employer and I know they appreciate that.

I also agree that there are a lot of lazy Americans out there who have a hedonistic view that there are many things beneath them including hard work. This is unfortunate because itâ€™s one of the chief contributors to why so many businesses are leaving this country (I know many people will dispute this, but we also have a role in this too), the people here are expecting to get paid more for doing less and now China and other Asian countries are reaping the rewards for it.

Anyway, I wish you luck in finding that $15 an hour job, but I also hate to tell you that $15 an hour isnâ€™t all that much either.

I know plenty of American citizens ready and able to change a 6.50 an hour job for a 15.00 an hour job. Some with advanced degrees, and some from here and overseas.

If I understand you correctly, a vote to legalize you is a vote against American jobs? Even after NAFTA when all the manufacturing jobs left, and the outsourcing where the service jobs left, now your telling me the reason why you want to be naturalized is because you want to steal jobs?

You have to find them before you can steal them. With the average turnover rate 80% and above for the corporations, you'll get your chances just like everyone else.

Did I mention that I've seen resume's from dozens and dozens of foriegn nationals that would do anything to get a work visa here that are not from Mexico? You also have those people to compete with, because many of them are getting here that way. And they aren't even Americans!

To be a citizen here means you have the right to work at an underpaid job or none at all like the rest of us that have already been here and working longer than you, and more educated too it would seem. Welcome to the real American Dream.

To offer incentives to hire only Mexicans is illegal and discriminatory here. You will just be like the Blacks, Chinese, and anyone else here. In our country as you should already well know, NO ONE IS GUARANTEED A JOB.

Hey retard, the proposed bill would only allow illegal immigrants here over 5 years to APPLY , not guaranteed, for citizenship.
And thatâ€™s after you pay back taxes, a fine, pass a criminal background check, pass an English comprehension exam and then wait an additional 6 years for the process to complete.

First of all...If you were qualified for a 15.oo an hour job you would have one. Dont think that because you might get a free pass at living in America that anything will change. The bottom line is this...Mexican immigrants come to America because we actually have JOBS here. So...most of you will take what you can get.....and believe me...I have no problem hiring an immigrant to clean my toilet or mow my lawn.Hell...I live in Texas...I can drive right around the corner and pay a Mexican 5.00 to mow my lawn. I know a bargain when I see one!! I have a job that pays a very high wage and I WORKED HARD for it...you do the same and you might someday have that 15.00 an hour job.
