How can I add my religion to my passport?

I didnt bother about what others have written, but I know that to enter Makkah (in Saudi Arabia) you must prove that you are a Muslim.

Now what u can do is, ring Saudi Embassy in Ireland (if there is one or in UK) and ask them what imam should u visit to have a letter proving that you have converted to Islam. Once that letter is issued it has to be endorsed (legalised) by the KSA Embassy and you can travel to Saudi Arabia with that letter. You can use it for your subsequent visits too.

Wearing Hijab or converting to certain religion or having name changed are all your personal decisions, I am sure you found something nice in the specific religion that made u convert, so I am happy for you if u feel happy. I believe in looking at everything with an un-biased point of view.

Edit - ok not trolling, your choice of religion is down to you - it's a life style choice.

Just abide by the same law as all others have to within the area you live.

Religion is divisive, so that is why it is not on EU passports.

Actually, I think that would be contrary to EU regulations, as it would be considered potentially discriminatory. But if you intend to go on the Haj, or some similar journey, I'm sure the Saudi embassy there should be able to help.

I don't believe that the Irish will include your religion in a passport (it's not done with the EU passports) but you are allowed to were a hijab. Just make sure you state that you wear it for religious reasons. You must make sure that you push your hijab back so the sides of your face, chin and your forehead are shown though otherwise they can reject the photo and request a new one.

Guidelines for Irish passport photos:
Photographs should be not more than 6 months old.
They may be in colour or black and white [b/w preferred].
Minimum photos size 35mm x 45mm, maximum size 38mm x 50mm
The photograph should show a full front view of the subjectâ€™s head, as he or she would normally appear.
The image must be sharp and clear, and taken against a plain white or light grey background
Sunglasses are not acceptable. Tinted glasses may be worn provided they do not obscure the person's eyes.
Photographs should not show military or police uniforms.
Only head coverings worn for religious reasons are permitted. Hair bands are not allowed.

No problems. Another thought. You might want to see if you can get someone from your temple where you worship to write a letter saying that they know you and that you have been muslim for X years. I doubt it would be necessary (the passport with the photo with you wearing a hijab should be fine) but you may feel more comfortable having one.

I don't think that you can have you religion on your passport but you can wear hijab. All of my ID pictures I'm wearing hijab. But if they send you a letter stating that it was not processed because you are wearing a hair covering you just have to write back and explain that it is for religious purposes.
Also in the pictures you may have to show your eyebrows. P.S. to everyone else why are you so defensive when someone is muslim why so much anger. please chill out she just asked a question she's not trying to harm or offend anybody. and Aisha you just have to go to your local masjid and ask the imaam to type or write you a later stating that you are a muslim.And FYI Islam Treats women with an abundance of respect. u r allowed to wear hijab for passport pic i was married to a muslim in a muslim country and my passport issued by the british embassy there allowed this. if u need to prove yr religion then u should be abl e to get a certificate of conversion to islam from yr mosque the mosque where i live gives one to u automatically when u convert. i dont think its poss to put religion on the passport, tho if ur married to a muslim and need to prove ur his wife i t hink they will write "wife of ...." they did on mine as that was required by the authorities there.

Wearing a Hijab ain't going to make you anything but what you are! If you are so hell bent on changing your name, I am assuming to a muslim one, and annoucing to the whole world what your religion is, why on God's green earth, don't you go live with them permanently!?
Why should YOUR country's passport divison make exceptions for people like you!? You really SHOULD go live with them for a while, and find out how they treat their women!

just because you are a muslim does not make u special and exempt you from having to have a clear passport photo

I think you may not be allowed to have a photo in it wearing the hijab.
