You can apply to universities in the US. Once accepted, you can apply for a student visa, which will allow you to study while you are in the US. The student visa will probably last for 4 years only and is only valid while you remain a student. After getting a degree, you can apply to jobs in the US. A potential employer can file for a work visa for you. If you have an "in demand" degree or skills, you will have a better chance of getting this. For example, right now nursing is the most "in demand" field in the US, and even has its own category for immigration. (That could change, of course) Once you get a work visa, if you decide to stay you can apply for a greencard through your work. After getting that you'll be a permanent resident. If you stay here as a permanent resident for 5 years, you can then apply for citizenship. Be sure to stay out of trouble with the law throughout this entire process!
Anyway, this may seem really daunting. I'd say you should first start looking at US universities that you could start attending next fall. Fill out some applications and see if some good ones accept you (I bet some will!) Then take it from there. Good luck!
Edit with more information: If you get a student visa, you actually can work while you're a student to pay some of your bills, if you work for the University that you attend. You can work on campus up to 20 hours a week while taking classes and you can work full time during the summer. Many foreign students work for various university departments as tutors, teaching assistants, or computer system admins and this is allowed under the student visa program. You can also work off campus for the same hours if it's something related to what you're studying, but you have to file separate paperwork to get to do that. |

Sure, come on over. We are a country of "loving" people who "welcome" "all" with "open" arms. |

Let me tell you what I did when I came to united states. First you must try to do everything legally because I think it is easier this way in the long run. First, I started looking for different colleges and prices. I apply to E.S.L program in Sacramento State University and they accepted me. Once an American university or college accepts you as an international student (which is not hard at all) they provide you with a form I-20, which tells immigration or consulate that you have been accepted to study in U.S.A. This doesn't mean you can come in here yet . It just shows that you are qualify to study here. After you have received an I-20 form you should look for ways to prove that you can support yourself while in America through your own means or an sponsor. This part is very important because as an student you will hold an F1 visa and they don't want you to work while going to school. After you arrive in united states you have to follow many different guidelines to keep your status and you can transfer to any school you would like after you are here. While being in college is very easy to fall in love and if you do so with an American citizen you could file for a change of status to a resident. This could take a few months to 3 years. To summarize. I think the easiest way to come to this country is as an F1 student |

I don't really understand this kind of think and it is kind of difficult because my friends parents wasn't born here but her visa is expired and passport!!! She got the same problem as u!!! My brother said if u are really smart and everything and u go to college, finished they might give u the citizen( I think) because I watched in TV!!! U have to be careful to don't pass something against the law from here because USA us the dream for every immigrated!!!! |

My best suggestion to you would be to study very hard and try to get into a University as an International transfer. Universities all over the US do transfers like this every year. GOOD LUCK AND STAY SAFE |

You will have to go to local Iranian government offices to get the information. You must apply for a student visa and get accepted at a college or university. You can write to any college or university admissions office and they will send you an application packet which will outline what you need to have and to do. That is to get you here as a student. If you want citizenship that is another process and our government is suspicious and paranoid of everyone these days. It is assumed that when your education is complete and/or your visa expires you will return home. In the applications and process forms everyone agrees to do this and your personal word is accepted as a matter of Honor. Your father is an honest man and that is very rare. I would like to apologize for all of the moron comments here. If you are serious take the advice that is sound here. Check into university's that will accept study abroad programs. This is a great country that does accept all. I would not want to live in Iran. Just work hard here, pay your taxes and come on down, LIKE ALL THE REST OF US DID. We are a country of immigrants. |
