How can someone legally be in the united states without a work permit?

omg! ADL, thank you so much for that perfect example of how we as americans are screwed by double standard after double standard.ive served 4 years in the army as a tanker awhile back and while in the service,i had gained so much pride in our country.i come home to civilian life after growing up in the army and have a better perspective on the world around me,and im starting to realize in the past few years,why?why the hell did i dedicate my soul to defending a country with a government that seems to be purposefully making it fail? i feel so helpless watching news and know that they have to know what they are doing is wrong!everything!the bailouts,the lack of concern for border safety and on and on.its like being punched in the face by someone whose life you save in a sense.
they do this sh*t so that we get demoralized,and think there is nothing we can do.when you feel that way as a society,then you start feeling that whats the purpose of voting?why do it? its similar to beating up your wife constantly and she sticks around because she hopes its going to get better or she's afraid there's nothing she can do.

The lack of a work permit has nothing to do with whether or not the status in the United States is legal or illegal.

What doesn't Napolitano and her supporters understand about the word "Criminal" (Illegally crossing the border of any country is prosecuted by law). And supporters of illegals should be prosecuted as well "As Anti-Americans".
An Example: I enter somone's house illegally (lets say through the window, because it was opened) use someone's money, eat food from the refrigirator and demand health insurance and free room in a house.
What would have happened to me next?

Choice 1: Someone will shoot me.
Choice 2: Someone will call the police.
Choice 3: Someone will comply to my demands and after few years will run bunkrupt.

So, if I am allowed to shoot someone,who is illegal in my appartment or house,why can't farmer's on the border with Mexico can't shoot illegal's who have crossed their properties illegally.

I don't have a work permit and I am here legally. Those over 18 aren't required to have them.

If you mean work visa, simple, the law isn't enforced for reasons I outlined in my last question.

tourist visa etc. . But if they want to work that is ok with me as long as they do not expect anything free from the government. Maybe we can have people come from Asia to build cars properly. Send those on welfare, food stamps and medicaid out of the country to make room for them.
