How can someone possibly create an argument for illegal immigration?

I wonder this a lot. Especially with all of these folks protesting Arizona's new law. Shouldn't law enforcement (federal, state, and local) have the right to question whether or not someone is in the country illegally? Just put yourself in this scenario- if you illegally crossed the border into another country, would you be offended and would you protest out in the streets if a state on that country passed this kind of a law? On what grounds would you possibly have to protest this? I'll tell you one thing, if you or I or anyone crossed into Mexico illegally and tried to pull this I am sure (based on what I have read in numerous articles) that you would be imprisoned and/or deported very quickly. Mexico isn't half as kind to its illegal immigrants (mostly from South and Central America) as we are in the U.S. And these people are taking advantage of the kindness of the U.S. people.

These illegals should be deported and despite what ricoman says, they can be deported-they are here illegally-period! They are not covered by anything in the constitution, they should not be even allowed to file a suit in court against a citizen who takes action against them. Bottom line, in November, where you live and vote-vote out any House of Representative who cheered the corrupt president of Mexico(Calderon), the other day when he spoke to them at our nation's capitol and chastised our country and Arizona for our laws-when his *** backward nation has some of the most anti foreigner/immigrant laws in the world. All illegals are criminals, and they are a slap in the face to all those legal immigrants who did it the right/legal way. Oh, ricoman, President Eisenhower dealt with this problem in the 1950's and yes, all illegals were deported, sadly, our current president has no balls to deal with a situation which is clearly defined as to how it should be handled, so while deporting illegals this time will be harder, perhaps if America is smarter, by November 2012, we will elect a pro American president who is actually loyal to the legal citizens of this country, and who does not pander to the despotic leaders of this world like Calderon.
Last fact guitarman, if all illegals were deported-the economy of the United States would improve for most every state(especially California), where do I get such an assumption-from two Virginia counties which began enforcing the same law Arizona is doing, and also cutting off free school, and other services to illegals and their children, in recent economic fall out-the counties of Northern Virginia which suffered the worst cuts to services to it's citizens, workforce and more-were those counties like Fairfax, which continue to give everything free to illegals. Meanwhile, the smart neighbor counties to the south and west(Prince William and Loudon) are enjoying a rather economic stress free time-because they are not footing the bill for illegals. I also might add, these counties also have resisted the stupidity in leadership often seen in an all democratic party ruled local government.

deporting them is no real issue, people say it would cost a fortune. Fact is fine companies hiring them, heavy fines to anyone harboring them,, and take away all the free crap they get once they have a anchor baby, they will soon leave on their own! They have no legal right to even walk on our streets yet they walk them in a protest against a legal law. Put a bus and border patrol with our
national reserve military and haul them off to the border. And you are correct , try the crap these criminals do in mexico and end up in prison. Arizona is doinfg nothing illegal and obama and congress know it..

The border is ALLOWED to remain open. They want it open. New world order. We should all be equal. They CAN NOT be brought up to our standard of living so we have to be taken down to theirs.
And they are laughing at us.

Evelyn j says that we should just change the laws and just make LEGAL entry easier. I think of the unemployment rate, and the lack of public funding for even small things, and it really rankles me that this thinking is out there. where will they work? unemployment has never been this bad since the great depression, and we should just accept 2 million illegals into the country every year? that makes no sense. No, the answer is to deport the ones here illegally, and tighten the security at the borders and let mexico deal with it's own financial and economical woes. we'll work on ours. I'm a working man, and I care about where my tax dollars go, and I see crowded emergency rooms full of immigrants and their kids, no way to pay for services, no way to pay for insurance, and i know why an x-ray for my kid's foot cost 459.00. gotta recoup those losses. free food, housing,healthcare-the overcrowded prisons....it's all coming in part out of my pocket, and I don't like it. all these hispanic and black gangmembers in our schools, got the schools looking like prisons with the police roaming the hallways all day. something's gotta change, and I don't think amnesty and easy entry are the solution. you like that idea so much? go to the ER and pick up the tab for a couple of them, and get back to me, eviej

...can not make no law that discriminates on the basis of race, gender, ethnicity, etc...racial profiling...again...*_* just like those middle easterners at the airport...so long as the white cop still stops the white man and asks him for his birth certificate or any other ID to prove he's an United States citizen...I see no problems with this...

The current immigration laws were not handed down from Mount Sinai. They need to be changed to reflect the reality of the economic conditions that cause millions of people every year to leave their homes and come to the United States.

It is beyond our understanding. We were born in america, the land of the free and home of the brave, we don't realize that beyond our sheltered home there is massive poverty 20x worse than downtown compton. People need to realize that we shouldn't let illegal immigration go unpunished we should just make it easier for people to get visa's and citizenship. People don't illegally immigrate as a first priority they do it because they can't' get visa's and such.

ricomon
can you actually blame illegal immigrants themselves for coming here? no.

even if you don't agree with the other side of the argument, what do you expect to do with the 12+ million illegal immigrants already here? deport them? no, that's never gonna happen.
