How come no one has a problem with vietnamese immigrants?

The Vietnamese immigrants came here as refugees in order to avoid being murdered after N. Vietnam conquered their homeland.

Another issue is that they came here legally. Nobody is complaining about legal immigrants from Mexico - just the illegal ones. (Who would be more accurately described as 'economic migrants' than 'immigrants.')

Probably because they're not here illegally like so many of the Latinos you speak of. Also they're not expecting everybody to take care of them and all the children they have. In fact most of the Vietnamese work hard to learn the English language something I can't say for most illegal Latinos that are here in Texas!

When I see the Vietnamese marching in my streets for rights they don't have because they are in this country illegally.

Then I will worry about them- in the mean time the people who demonstrate the worst behavior are the ones getting the most attention.

I assume you mean illegal immigrants. If you're talking about Legal Immigrants, I have zero problems with them.

The vast majority of illegal immigrants come from Latin America, mostly Mexico. That is why you hear about them more than any other group. Seems sort of obvious. But you go ahead and cry "wolf".. I mean "racism".

Well i can tell you first hand.... my parents came to America in the 70's from Vietnam (legally), they worked their *** off to support me and my siblings, never asked for handout or played any race cards and i can tell you alot of my relatives are just the same. I have the feeling you're just someone who has a great hates toward Vietnamese people, and Isn't that just Racism???

Gee, I've never seen the Viet Namese protest carrying their flags demanding rights.

It IS incredibly bad for our vets - how do you train to kill and then end up with them for neighbors.

In addition to the fact that the Viets are here legallly, you should realize that the US was at war not against all Vietnamese but only the Communist Vietnamese. The Viets who came here were allied with the US one way or another and endured revenge from the Communists after 1975.

The answer is that the vietnamese immigrants are not coming into the US in the numbers as the ones from Mexico. The US population is expected to skyrocket in the next 50 years because of immigration from the south, not the west.

No one is upset about immigrants. It is the ILLEGAL immigrants that are the problem. We spend billions of tax payer dollars every year to support ILLEGALS, in hospitals, schools and social services. We are a melting pot of immigrants and as long as they enter this country legally we will welcome them.

And I'm not as upset over the Mexican ILLEGALS as I am the fact that the world knows how to get in the USA illegally.

It's pathetic how everyone talking enforce the law. Illegal is illegal. Where is the Justice, where is the law? I believe the media has been playing a big role to spewed ignorance against Mexicans.
Did you know they are not the only ones undocumented?

Legal verses illegal. But in Mexico, the only legal means of coming to the US involves having resources -- the equivalent of $10K bank account -- something to return to Mexico for. With those resources there is no reason to come to the US legally or illegally. Catch 22.

Another interesting question: Why so much goodwill towards the US after we invaded Vietnam and defiled and defoliated it? My guess is that every Vietnamese has a brother or sister or cousin who is an American now.

Follow up question: After bombing the heck out of Baghdad, could we stimulate the same future goodwill and forgiveness by taking in millions of Iraqis and having them assimilate? I don't think so. Another Catch 22.

I do...my town is now full of them and the ones that live in my town cannot drive in any decent way...our accident rates have increased 3 fold. They have destroyed multi-layer homes by tring to grow food on the foor and causing water damage
