Canadians have a much more stable nation today because they historically have not let the U.S. and U.S. big businesses plunder and bribe too much there, as has been done in oil and cocaine rich Mexico and other Central American countries. If Canada had cocaine and mostly brown people, the U.S. would have plundered and destabilized there, too. N.A.F.T.A. and its problems, such as the alarming and sudden accumulation of wealth in a few hands, has caused the most harm to Mexican working class, such as a 20% rise in their unemployment rate. This remains a racist issue as long as U.S. businesses and employers who criminally invite and hire undocumented foreign nationals are not arrested, prosecuted and fined for THEIR crimes against this nation and our own stability.

That's simple, Canadians, as a whole, are law abiding people. Mexicans are not. So many Mexicans that are coming here not because they want our way of life, or want an honest living, but because they want something for nothing. That is funded by honest hard working citizens tax money. I for one am sick and tired of it. I really would hate to see a civil war in this country, but is that not what it is coming to? How are we being protected by our government?

We have an open border relationship with Canada and the threat of drugs and illegal aliens is Mexico. Tell you something, I know for a fact that along the Canadian border lets say Buffalo Niagara Falls, Lewiston, that whole strech they only have 4-5 drug dogs on the American side. And in the El Paso area, they have around 54-60 drug dogs, so what does that tell you. Mexico is a bad country ans its a shame that the Mexican gov't are too chicken "s h i t" to lift a finger against the cartels, and by the way, the cartels run Mexico not the gov't.

People immigrate to the U.S. from Canada for the most part in a civilized and lawful manner because they can afford to, and because they're not dying to get out of Canada. I used to live in Canada (now lawfully live in the U.S.) and I can tell you that Canada is not a bad country to live in at all. In fact it's a wonderful country to live in with a VERY good standard of living.

The same cannot be said for Mexico. It's a country that people are dying to get out of because conditions there are so deplorable and unacceptable. You can't blame them for trying pretty much any way to get into the U.S. when they live in a garbage dump and the 'promised land' is just across the way. You'd make a run for it too if you were in their shoes!

The Mexican government won't do anything about the living conditions of their people because they're corrupt and self-serving and because it's probably not possible anyway. Mexico is a very poor country. It'll probably always be that way too.

Also, there are pretty much only 2 primary ways to immigrate to the U.S. - marry an American or bring a career skill to the U.S. that is needed. How many Mexicans (compared to Canadians) would qualify in those 2 areas? Very few. So they are left with little or no options to immigrate to the U.S. lawfully.

In conclusion, going through the U.S. immigration system lawfully is a time-consuming mess. They're severely back-logged with cases and at any time one's application could be indefinitely delayed over the slightest error. I think one of the ways that they could continue to encourage immigrants to enter the U.S. lawfully is by cleaning up the big mess and streamlining the process a bit more - I speak as one who has had direct experience in going through that mess too.

Canada and the US both share a proud predominantly Anglo-Irish ancestry, similar origins, culture, language and high civilization.

Mexico is just Mexico. How else top describe it?
It is like the India of the Americas- massive wealth, massive poverty, massive pollution, massive corruption.
The Mexican government cannot eliminate the massive problems as they are far too inept and corrupt pursuing their own wealth-generating interests that they care nothing for the plight of their own poor, or the gringos next door.
The government could change the situation- but is too keen on attaining wealth to bother.

Folks the biggest strength the Hispanics have is the difference in wage levels and living standards between Mexico and the US.
The reason so many lawbreaking employers search for them is many fold.
An undocumented worker does not file unemployment, require insurance, cost the employer employment Taxes-FICA, Medicare, SS., and they are ecstatic about making more than they would back home and being able to support themselves long enough to hookup with any available child bearing woman and get their "Anchor Baby" that really gets the money flowing!

The losers-Hospitals, Social services, DOCUMENTED WORKERS WHO HAD TO WORK THEIR WAY UP TO A WAGE LEVEL THAT JUST COSTED THEM THEIR JOB TO AN UNDERBIDDING OPPORTUNISTIC JOB STEALING UNWANTED INVADER, and the whole US in general!

Americans also sometimes ilegally cross the border into Canada .Bringing drugs . My friend is an officer at the border by the way . So why do you try to pin point it on Canadians and make your American self look like an angel ?
