Illegal immigration is not confined to Mexicans who swim the border or who are smuggled across by greedy, corrupt, and inhumane U.S. citizens.

Illegal immigration is also a tremendous problem with the Asian population, Europeans, Arabs, Iraqs, Pakistanis, India, and individuals from any other country who get here legally or illegally and then stay here illegally.

Some are in fact professionals who have advanced degrees from this country. Foreign students obtain permission to attend schools here and then either overstay their visas after they graduate or do not attend school at all and simply disappear into mainstream American.

No, illegal immigration is not confined to Mexicans nor are they the U.S.'s greatest concern. The greatest concern deals with "other than Mexicans" or OTMs. These could be considered individuals who may actually be a terrorist threat to our country.

I donâ€™t know whether any doctors and engineers are illegal but there are a lot of European illegal workers in NYC. There are millions of people from all over the world who are working illegally. I suppose the attention is mostly on Mexicans because they are more numerous in certain areas of the country.

Society tends to blanket everything under one simple thing or heading, and most people assume that every illegal is jumping across the border. A friend of mine, knows a doctor from the UK, got a job in a very large hospital here in the States. He failed to have a SSN and a work visa (he was here on a visa wavier on vacation when he got the job), didn't realize it would be a problem until he tried to buy a house because to get a mortgage you have to show documents that you are legal and you have a SNN. He had neither - so he never got his dream house!

And, the hospital were at fault for not applying and checking if he had the correct papers when giving him a job as a surgeon in their hospital.

So no this is not a 'class' thing, it happens across the social and economic board

Because non-Mexican illegal immigrants make a very small portion of the illegal population. For everywhere one its not as simple as hiking thru a desert.

So there you have it. The large majority of illegal immigrants come from Mexico and Central America.

Where is your source for lots of illegal European immigrants?The majority of H1-B's are from India - that hardly qualifies as Europe.

We hear about the illegals from other countries. However when 90% come from Mexico, you will hear more about the illegal Mexicans. Since they are much more "in your face" you also hear more about them.

I don't care where the illegal comes from. If they are an illegal from Canada, they are still an illegal alien and shouldn't be here!

You must be licensed to practice medicine in our country. As far as engineers, etc. I've yet to see them marching in our streets and demanding rights that are not theirs. Some hi-tech positions are filled by companies that sponsor them for legal residency. So we're comparing apples to oranges here.

I think those ignorant Minute-men should go north and build a wall between Canada and US, and put some of their men all around the east coast to board off the illegals from Europe. Summer... there are 12.5 million illegal Mexican criminals in this country. This is per the latest US Census Buearu of information. They cost us 2.5 trillion dollars a year.

Think of it this way, our sewer and water system has to accomidate an additional 12.5 million drinks of water and toilet flushes a day. The infrastructure was designed for that.

Which illegal immigrants do we hear more about? If you are referring to Spanish-speaking immigrants, it's because there are infinitely more of them, and more of them with children on federal aid programs...that's why.

Train, no not 12 million but then there aren't 12 million Mexicans either. There are 6 million Other Than Mexican illegal immigrants.

American rebel, no they wouldn't have to take a boat they can get on a plane with nothing but their passport to fly to Europe. They don't need a visa to go whatsoever. They also don't need a visa to go to Canada, just a plane ticket and their passport.
