Im 18 and live in London, in the future after university I have decided I want to live and work in the USA... How do I apply for one, I would like to start the application process early.. my idea is I will work and get some experience after university in the USA and then start my own business in the USA financially backed by my family .. so in this way I will in the future be employing american citizens so will be good for the country... any ideas please... i am British and hold a British passport and have some family (cousins/Uncles) in the USA...

It's not a matter of filing an application. There are two major ways to immigrate to the United States.
1. Family based petition. Since no members of your immediate family are American citizens this is out.
2. Employment. In the US it's the employer who files all the paperwork for the foreign worker. This is the route open to you. You'll need to finish your college degree in the UK and get 2 years of work experience to qualify. Once in the United States, as a professional worker, your employer can sponsor you for immigration. |

You will need a sponsor to move to the USA, that means you need to find a job that will sponsor you to more here, or a school or a wife! |

First of all you need a sponsor who resides in the USA to have back up for you to get permanent residence in other words you have to apply for Residency from England, and contact
your folks to gather the necessary financial
letters and bank statements to show that you'll
be able to stay with them when you come to the US. Call the US embassy in England and get
information then notify your family and get the
documents you need, it's best to do it from England so you know when you leave for the
States it's a done deal, you can become a citizen after 5 years living in the US. |
