How do I change the Date of Birth for the Certificate of Citizenship?

My mom had this problem that we found out that when she came to America, the social worker had generated multiple birthdate on her paperwork. Recently she just changed her true date of birth with the Social Security Dept. Now, they told us that we need to change the same date of birthdate on her Certificate of Citizenship. Does anyone what form we need to use and how can we file that? I tried to called the USCIS line to speak with the agent, but can't reach the agent to speak to them. Please helpppppp!!!

Form N-565 is used to apply for a replacement certificate of citizenship or naturalization. It is filed by mail with either the Texas or Nebraska Service Centers, depending on where you live. It must be filed with appropriate identification to establish your identity.
To correct a Naturalization Certificate, IF a clerical error was made, file a Form N-565 without fee at the USCIS office with jurisdiction over your residence. IF the error was your fault, the fee must be paid.
The number for the USCIS is 1-800-375-5283. I have had good luck speaking with people there in the past. Try to reach them again and see if you are able. |

What date of birth is on her immigration paperwork? You need to be very careful here. Get an attorney to help you. If your mother provided the incorrect date of birth on all her immigration paperwork or used fraudulent documents for immigration benefits USCIS may claims she committed immigration fraud. I don't know if this is the case, and probably neither do you. Your mother should speak with a professional to address this. Do not take this lightly please. |
