How do I to get a Green card through an affidavit sponsorship?

Hello, I am from Peru. I have a mentor that I am not related to, in the USA who wants to sponsor me to come live with them so that I may be able to go to college there and explore other opportunities for my life. If I take the affidavit sponsorship papers to my embassy will that be enough to get a green card? Is there anything else that I will need?

What you need is something called an approved petition, not an affidavit. If you have an immediate family relative in the U.S. like a parent, brother or sister, that person can petition for you. Then you could apply for an immigrant visa.
If you want to live in the U.S. for the rest of your life, you need an immigrant visa, not an "affidavit sponsorship." |
