How do i get a green card to live in american?

To obtain a green card is a very lengthy and expensive process. You would have to meet certain criteria before you can even be allowed to apply (unless you were lucky enough to get in via the lottery). You would have to be a student, a highly skilled worker, or married to an American. None of those things grants you automatic approval. I am an American married to a Brit, and he is in the deportation process for making a mistake on one of the forms. The USCIS has such ridiculous standards for foreigners to meet, that you may carry on spending thousands in immigration paperwork and years later be rejected--doomed from the beginning, but never get told.

If you want to live here, then good luck to you. I hope you have a lot of money, a lot of time, and a lot of patience.

Except citizens in the following countries, all citizens of other countries can apply for the Green Card,

BRAZIL, CANADA, CHINA (mainland, except Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, and Taiwan), COLOMBIA, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, ECUADOR, EL SALVADOR, GREAT BRITAIN (and its dependent territories*, except Northern Ireland), GUATEMALA, HAITI, INDIA, JAMAICA, MEXICO, PAKISTAN, PHILIPPINES, PERU, POLAND, RUSSIA, SOUTH KOREA and VIETNAM.

*The following dependent areas of Great Britain are not eligible to participate in the Lottery: Anguilla, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Montserrat, Pitcairn, St. Helena, Turks and Caicos Islands.

apearantly it's really hard, you could enter a greencard lottery on the internet, theres an official one somewhere or apply somehow but i heard it takes ages

First its America.

You have to apply for a green card. Price wise it varies from what area you are coming from. Also with Economy times now the probability of you coming here with no problems are slim.

And with the Swine Flu outbreaks foreigners are going to have a heck of a time even visiting.

Either enter the green card lottery, marry a US citizen, or get an employer to sponsor you. For the last, you need an advanced degree in engineering or the sciences.
