instead of going down to mexico since i was told i had to go down there since i was under age but now im an adult??

if you are now aged 18, then you MUST go back to mexico to apply for legal entry to USA, and you must do it from mexico, and wait in mexico however long the process takes.
Nopw that you are an adult, you cannot change your status from illegal to legal from inside USA. You can do this if you are UNDER age 18. If you had done this before you turned 18 then you would now be legal, as Usa accepts the kids under 18 had no choice about being illegal.
Once you turn 18, you do have a choice about being illegal, and thus you must return to mexico to apply legally just like EVERY OTHER immigrant must do. |

if you have overstayed a visa or entered illegally you cannot fix your situation from the US. you would have to go to mexico for approximately 2 years to await the govt's decision on whether or not they will pardon you from breaking the law. Once they approve you (after you prove extreme hardship) you would get a letter saying that there is a interview, once completely approved and medically certified you can renter the us on a conditional permanent resident status. After 5 yrs you can apply for citizenship. |
