It is proberbly easier to get married in the UK than in Ukraine.
However do look at the situation regarding documents etc regarding a fiancee visa, that you must apply for at the British consulate in Kiev.
its on Artoum street, right next to the Bosche electrical service centre.
You/him both could face a difficult interview there by an entry clearance officer ( do understand that they are not always helpful in issuing visas )
Your boyfriend will not be able to work in the Uk for six months under the conditions of a fiancee visa, and can only work once you have got married, and he has then obtained further leave to remain, so do be prepared for that one.
you will need to show that you can support your husband during that period, and that you are able to provide accomodation.
Keep all details of correspondance, and details of telephone calls, and emails etc between you and your b/f.
make sure you have plenty of photographic evidence of you both together to support your application.( preferably with well known landmarks in the background )
You will have proberbly noticed by now that there is very little cultural difference between people in Ukraine and the UK but do make sure that there is an interpreter present at your interview.Not to interpret, but to act as a witness to anything that the entry clearance officer may say.
keep all bank statements, building society statements, mortgage statements, pay slips, and utility bills , as part of your supporting documents.
You will also need passports ( both ) 2 passport photographs of you both, birth certificates, divorces certificates if applicable ( divorce absolute )
Make sure you arrive for your interview very very early even if you have booked your interview by telephone or internet.( 6.30am is a good time )
The british consulate staff do not care a damn who they see first, and they close admission to the consulate at 10am.
Another piece of advice is.
if you have not already been to Kiev, get your boyfriend to show you the city Its beautiful.

Getting married in Ukraine is pretty much impossible if u go there as visitor, unless u seek help from an agency who is involved in arranging weddings of foreigners in Ukraine.

Your Boyfriend has to get COA (Certificate of Approval) from Homeoffice, once he gets that, you will have three months to get married. (I have put the web link below for details).

Its easier for u to get married in UK than Ukraine.

Once married which country do you both want to live in? If you both want to stay in the UK it would be much easier for you to marry here (also then your boyfriend could get a permanent visa as opposed to the work visa he has now).
