How do i travel outside the u.s. if i am a permanant resident but do not have a native passport?

i'm currently a u.s. permanant resident without a native passport or citizenship to another country. my parents were refugees and immigrated here when i was 2 years old. i would like to travel/vacation out of the country but i'm not sure how i can do this before obtaining my citizenship or passport. can i just travel with my permanant residence card? is there a special permit or passport for these situtations?
Additional Details
i'm not able to apply for a passport from my country of origin because i was born on a refugee camp. ive tried and was told i'm technically not a citizen there. i'm literally an "alien" lol. .i guess its a catch 22. my only option is getting my naturalization. just cant afford it right now.

What "Aztec" tells is related to the United States but no other country would let you in just on a U.S. Green Card without a passport except Canada for land travel.

You need to file USCIS-Form I-131 and apply for a refugee travel document (Form I-571). Whether you may need a visa in addition depends on your travel destination. Most countries require holders of travel documents to obtain a visa before they are granted entry.

A more detailed answer would have been possible if you would have added the citizenship of your parents and your travel destination.

Well, you have to call the USCIS and ask them if they can issue you a travel document. My friend was in the same case his country denied him but he had a green card so he had applied for Travel Document. The problem is you will not be a US citizen you will have to get visas to countries you go, for example if US citizen don't have to get a visa to one of the European countries, you probably will have to get one!

Depends which country you want to visit. Some (like Canada) will let you in with just your US green card. Others will require something else.

The last answers were wrong. If you are a lawful permanent resident(LPR), you can travel in/out the U.S as long as your absence does not exceed 1 year.

With your green card and the passport of the country of which you are a citizen.

You can apply for a passport from your nation of origin. You cannot receive a US passport until you become a citizen.
Most nations will not allow you to enter without a passport.

You may be able to get "advance parole." Check USCIS for info.
