Didn't Wal*Mart have to pay out something like 11 million dollars a while back for hiring illegals ? I would like to ask why document fraud is condone and accepted as part of life and many such claims from advocates claim that stolen or fake documents they still pay taxes and will never get the money back, never mind what means they used to pay taxes like fraud is irreverent and illegals should be allowed to collect such funds.Advocates for illegals are morally bankrupting this country choosing fraud,deception,needs,wants over America's rights and liberties and laws. |

The answers that you have gotten shows the ignorance and bias of the entire illegal immigration problem. Large well respected companies like Bank of America and Walmart don't hire illegals and pay them "under the table". They have too much to lose. Those that do knowingly hire illegals do so by technically following the current laws - namely documenting their false identification. Current laws do not require companies to ensure that the documentation is real only provided. These workers are paid a legal wage even though they may work for less than others and they pay taxes, social security, etc.
It is small companies and businesses like farm labor, handyman services or lawncare that are likely to hire an illegal worker and pay them cash. Small businesses can often do it because they are not as closely watched by the authorities. The people that hire these businesses don't care who is working for them as long as the price is cheap.
Here is the bottom line. Why should a company like Bank of America hire some kid out of high school who thinks they should make $15 an hour instead of an immigrant (legal or illegal with papers) that is willing to work for minimum wage? Part of the immigration problem is that most American citizens don't want to start at the bottom. |
