How do immigrants help the united states? HELP!?

I can't say they ALL help US, but some work for low wages so that some companies can profit. They clean houses, do yardwork, do elder care and don't overcharge since they can't. They go shopping and help stores, pay sales taxes, pay rent to landlords, and since they are God's children they show the hypocrisy of those who think they shouldn't be treated as a neighbor. I know some of them turn to crime, get free services, and take jobs that Americans could do, but so do many greedy fatcats. I'd rather criticize the hotshots that milk their companies dry, take millions of dollars and lay off thousands of employees, then declare bankruptcy and still get to keep a few of their mansions.
That being said, we shouldn't let people in so easily, but when they are here, they are human and deserve to be treated as such.

They drive down the wages by doing jobs for less than the established wage rates thus lowering the cost of products and cost to the manufacturer. This in turn makes it easier for the rest of us to shop at wal-mart. It drives down the value of everything and makes jobs unsecured for people that have raised families and paid taxes for years. The immigrant workforce has done more to lower the standard of living for Americans than anything else this country has ever done. Your essay should be "How Immigrant Workers have Destroyed the American Dream".

well here are some that help but 90% are illegal and only drain the social services of states and tax payers. All the illegals make the legal law abiding immigrants look bad.

I don't know about the US, but for Australia (also a very multicultural society), immigrants bring the country many benefits;

Firstly culturally; we get to experience different food, entertainment, music, languages etc just outside out front doors.

Economically; Studies have shown that migrants often partake in jobs in which born-here Australians either don't have the skills to do/won't do.

Also, the bigger the population, the more secure Australia is; and with birth rates lower than what they were, say 40 years ago, the intake of overseas migrants and refugees is a big part in the boosting of it.

They make our country like others where you actually have to have talent to make a decent living (no 25$ for something that takes 1 month of training) that people who have very few skills bash because they want to support 3 children in a 4 bedroom 2 bath house without a profession.

The government lets it happen so its good?
