Dear President Bush:

Iâ€™m about to plan a little trip with my family and extended family, and I would like to ask you to assist me. Iâ€™m going to walk across the border from the U.S. into Mexico, and I need to make a few arrangements. I know you can help with this.

I plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passports, immigration quotas and laws. Iâ€™m sure they handle those things the same way you do here.

So, would you mind telling your buddy, President Vicente Fox, that Iâ€™m on my way over? Please let him know that I will be expecting the following:

1. Free medical care for my entire family.
2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I might need, whether I use them or not.
3. All government forms need to be printed in English.
4. I want my kids to be taught by English-speaking teachers.
5. Schools need to include classes on American culture and history.
6. I want my kids to see the American flag flying on the top of the flag pole at their school with the Mexican flag flying lower down.
7. Please plan to feed my kids at school for both breakfast and lunch.
8. I will need a local Mexican driverâ€™s license so I can get easy access to government services.
9. I do not plan to have any car insurance, and I wonâ€™t make any effort to learn local traffic laws.
10. In case one of the Mexican police officers does not get the memo from Pres. Fox to leave me alone, please be sure that all police officers speak English.
11. I plan to fly the U.S. flag from my house top, put flag decals on my car, and have a gigantic celebration on July 4th. I do not want any complaints or negative comments from the locals.
12. I would also like to have a nice job without paying any taxes, and donâ€™t enforce any labor laws or tax laws.
13. Please tell all the people in the country to be extremely nice and never say a critical word about me, or about the strain I might place on the economy.

I know this is an easy request because you already do all these things for all the people who come to the U.S. from Mexico. I am sure that Pres. Fox wonâ€™t mind returning the favor if you ask him nicely.

It concerns me that so many people out there are so STUPID and IGNORANT at the same time!

Family Guy, Mya, Cdf-Rom, Flholleywood answers show how fearful, unaware, cruel and single-minded some of us Americans are. Murdering people with snipers, building a great wall, and using dogs to attack immigrants coming in from Mexico are at the very least UN-Christian, UN-American, and cruel solutions to a very big problem.

These people show that they would like to "time freeze" or limit immigration to America to people only from Northern European countries. The fact of the matter is that the world in a changing place and that time cannot be frozen.

These people are ignoring the fact that America is a "great melting pot" where people from all over the world come here to try and live out the American Dream. Most immigrants legal or not, come here to make themselves better because only in America can you get paid better (even though American Companies and high end middle class Americans can afford to hire them "cheap") and have a chance to work. The jobs that legal and illegal immigrants do are BACK BREAKING, *** BUSTING, thankless service-type jobs that even jobless Americans would refuse to do.

The Americans that typically do not favor immigrants are the following:

1) the working poor and legal immigrants
2) the middle class and small business owners that cannot afford to hire cheap illegal immigrants to do the dirty work.
3) the ignorant, and stupid *** Americans who forget that their families and friends once struggled in American when they were "new" (and mostly illegal) immigrants. And that the "Americans" at the time made laws and blamed their "people" for all the problems in America

This anti-immigration **** makes me sick!!! Their needs to be a middle ground that addresses the issues. Feeding into people's fears and hate only serves to destroy our United States of America!

Make Mexico prosperous. VERY simplistic answer!
1) At least stop the corruption by the petty bureaucrats.
2) Make the area more business friendly.
3) Could try my solution to making Renewable Energy economically viable. It creates and sells off a city the size of LA in Mexico over a 50 year period. This solution will never happen, because it would require 1) 2 international governments working together with the private sector so that a ROI is possible from Renewable Energy without our energy bill skyrocketing, 2) The Mexican constitution would have to be amended.

I was Korean when I immigrated in 78, somewhere in the 80's added a "-American" dancing funny to new wave, and now that my Spanish is near perfection, I consider myself Korean-American-Mexican. I'm sure this sounds ridiculous, but if you have the rare opportunity to enter our world to understand who we are and what we believe, as I have,
you'll be able to clear the smoke to find a sad group of whinning, government-supported, intentionally-limping, slo-speaking, history-referencing, corner-owning, hippocrites who argue the supposed atrocities of their direct family lienage, where in fact, only less than half can identify their own fathers in a line-up? No one can deny that racism exists in our nation simply because we have so many races contributing individually as citizens. There are 11 million illegal residents in our nation. The majority are Mexican and the opinions and concerns from those opposed to immigration reform are further fueled by the Latinos from the dozens of other nations. Governor Schwarzenegger opposed the issuances of Driver's Licenses to illigals and the Latino community united against his denial. I too, did not want to allow this "right" to illegals. Such a move would most certainly impact future decision making. Everyone in California knows an illigal resident. Some only know illigals and find citizens a rareity. Allow me now, as a Korean-American, to share some insight which is not heard when told by a Mexican. If an illigal is even financially capable of aquiring a vehicle, he has done so for reasons which demanded it. The exposure to him/her is incredibly dangerous and he knows he could possibly lose his wife and children if even pulled over. He's not blatently challenging America's laws so that he can low ride his pickup down to the nudy bar for his Buds. The caring of and the welfare of his loved ones leaves him no choice. Do you, Mr. and Mrs. Dumb Jokes, know what its like to drive every block of every mile with the constant threat of never seeing your PURPOSE IN LIFE, ever again? Our nation has always given weight to "intent". You cannot be explained the life in Mexico because it is an underlying
mood of sadness and distrust over the one's officialized by the extremely rich leaders who do not care that they are looked upon as liars and cheats by the community...

Help da ones that have a clean record to get citizenship and deport the ones that have commited crimes. I mean mostly everyone from other countries gain citizenship easily. Why exclude them?

The problem is not the Mexicans, but the media. It's true that the U.S is the best country in the world for immigrants, but the media needs to stop showing Hollywood and the towers of Manhattan on TVs and start talking about how hard it is to be an illegal immigrant with no paper what so ever in the U.S.
Border wise! It would cost less money to secure the border between the U.S and Mexico than it cost to build the Big Dig in Boston which doesn't stop leaking as of today....
My point, the government must make it a priority... otherwise we can't stop it... the future will tell us
